🏡Wat Amphawan was built around 1842 during the reign of King Rama III, a period when courtiers commonly built temples as memorials. It was constructed by Phra Ratcha Chana Songkram (Wan) in dedication to his mother, named Am, and was initially named Wat Amwan. Later, it was renamed Wat Amphawan, meaning 'Mango Grove,' reminiscent of a temple from the Buddhist era. The important and interesting features within the temple include: 🏠The Ubosot (ordination hall) is a rectangular building housing a group of Buddha images. The front gable is plain, decorated with stucco floral patterns scattered sparsely. The center features an oval shape painted red inside, with glazed ceramic pieces in the middle.
