This was a very difficult experience for us. We had to leave early, which upset our schedule. We sought out the area for its high black limestone cliffs which march into the ocean and create a spectacular coastline, and because it is off the beaten track. We found the resort was not as described. Some facilities are very run down- for example, the tennis court surface is broken and **** infested and the net is in pieces on the ground. There was no horse riding. But worst of all, not only did they have no water sports equipment, they told us we would be arrested if we put a foot in the water! They seemed to feel the shark swim ban was still in effect, even though the New Caledonian government had announced it was lifted across the whole country months before. Luckily we found out the campsite up the road was hiring kayaks - and everyone was swimming there. So we had to drive up the road and pay to hire something that was supposed to be part of the village. The actual people working at the resort were lovely. Management didn’t believe our problems, and would not refund our money. A really unpleasant experience in a heavenly location.
