Big Bird Inn

This is a nice place. The rooms are a decent size and very clean. The staff are friendly. There are no coffee pots or cups in the rooms but I don’t mind as I worry about the cleanliness of them and never use them anyway. You can get coffee and water and cookies in the lobby all day. The beds are very comfortable. I would stay here again.

What a find. It was just getting dark and my boyfriend and I were in need of lodging on our way to Thunder Bay. The Big Bird Inn was welcoming when we noticed two important words, "open" and "vacancy." The helpful front desk agent put us in a room on the second floor just left of the stairway. It was a cozy and comfortable room. The lobby was quite nice, an added bonus was complimentary coffee, tea, and cookies. There was also a bar area, the bar was closed but I enjoyed sitting at one of the tables and sipping on tea and eating a few cookies before going to bed. The Big Bird Inn is a recommended stay when in Wawa, it's a well run place in a good location with close proximity to a supermarket, restaurants, and a wonderful lake for swimming. Good rates for the quality and location. Wawa is a lovely little town and staying at the Big Bird Inn was pleasant experience.

Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was nice and clean and homey feeling. Beds were comfortable . We were travelling so were really happy there were laundry facilities we could use. There was coffee, tea, water and cookies at all times in the lobby. Would stay here again .

Rooms are awesome and spacious. Staff were amazing especially the tall guy at the front desk, very helpful and communicative. Only bad thing are the restaurants in the town, you cannot choose, but that’s not the hotels fault.Will come here again, thank you Big Bird Inn

The positives: -Rooms are clean -Beds are comfortable -Staff is friendly and helpful - they even accommodated a later checkout for us because our van was in the shop. For this we are very grateful. But there were also Negatives... which accompanied with a $180 price tag brings down the rating. -its noisy at night - sound from the hallways. -no hairdryer - only 2 large towels, 2 small towels and 3 face cloths in a room that sleeps 4 - no coffee in room - though there is a complimentary coffee bar downstairs. - it's newly renovated with high quality materials that impressed me at first but son you notice the workmanship is questionable and I think in a few years they will be dealing with issues. Too bad this reno is what makes probably makes staying here so expensive. - no luggage rack Another thing to note. I was bummed there was no fridge only to discover at night (when it kicked in) that its been placed inside the cabinet - just an FYI for anyone that may find themselves thinking the same. For our second night in Wawa we booked at the outdoorsman, and for $150 we got a complete kitchenette and table, in comparison the Big Bird Inn is grossly overpriced.

My son and I were driving from Toronto to Edmonton and our first stop after a very long days drive was to be in Wawa. What better place to stay than at the Big Bird Inn! It was a quaint, comfy hotel with a very friendly staff and a nice room. The beds were super comfy and we really liked the electric fireplace that was a nice added touch and kept us nice and warm. Located very close to all of the nice restaurants and right on the Main Street in Wawa - and of course it was close to the big Canada Goose Statue!! It was a lovely stay and I highly recommend it!
