The location of hotel Celio is great, close to Colosseum. Although it was very quiet and nice surroundings. The room was comfortable with all the necessary facilities, the WiFi reliable. The breakfast was great, the staff is polite and helpful. It was an amazing experience for me and my family.

Let’s start with the good… Two friends traveling together. Requested two beds and they gave us one bed with more floor space which was fine. Rooms and hotel are beautifully appointed with antiques. Service was superb. Extremely friendly staff. Breakfast was exquisite. Old fashion, but stylish. I understand that it is a quaint boutique hotel, but they need to put some money into some upgrades. There was minimal ventilation in the small room, which made it very stuffy very fast. We were able to open up the window, which faced the back mechanic tent that was blowing some sort of machinery all day. But at least we got fresh air. The hair dryer was from 1950 and had duck tape holding it together…. barely blew out any air. The toilets were made for munchkins. You literally had to put 1 foot in the shower and 1 foot out in the room to be able to take care of your private parts. You also had to climb up almost a foot to get into the shower. The shower doors did not open all the way because of how tight the space was. The room is fine if you are under 5’9” and weigh less than 140 pounds. If you are taller or wider, the bathroom will be a struggle. The hotel is good for a 1-3 night stay but definitely not ant long term vacation stay. You will regret feeling claustrophobic after long days of sightseeing.

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Celio with a group on business for a week. The hotel is very charming with an interesting history and rooftop terrace that has a view of the top of the Colosseum! Roberto was extremely helpful and patient with all of our touristy questions. The breakfast is awesome, now that I'm home, I miss the Italian cappuccinos. Located a few blocks from the Colosseum, restaurants galore and a 24/7 convenient store just down the street, it was the perfect location for my first visit to Rome and I will remember it forever! Grazie mille!!

Perfect location for touring Rome, right around the corner from the colosseum. Excellent accommodations for a family (even with big kids) and an amazing breakfast every day! The roof garden is an added bonus, and surprisingly quiet since you are in the middle of the city. We loved our stay!

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel. a stones throw away from the Colosseum with some rooms offering views (by way of sticking your head out the window and having a look, but still pretty cool!) Bedside charging points were available as well as free WiFi. breakfast was included in the price and whilst basic was very filling and a great start to the day. The rooms and hallways of the hotel are beautifully decorated and great care has evidently gone into this. Noise pollution from the outside was very minimal despite being in a busy area and close to restaurants. Toiletries and towels were included in the price and the room had a cool looking bath/shower combo. Would have been a nice bonus if the jacuzzi jets were functional but I taken a bath and shower during my stay and both were comfortable so not a complaint. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Considering the location, price and overall comfort of the hotel I would happily stay here again.

Perfect location, everything is at hand, calm place, cozy and clean rooms. There are beautiful decorations, wallpapers and mosaics which creates a unique and marvelous atmosphere. I believe this is good value for money. And of cause, very friendly staff and helpful owners.

Review from my Daughter Lucy: Our stay at Celio hotel was absolutely fantastic. We booked the terrace room and a standard double and both were lovely, comfortable and spacious. Comfy beds and pillows, fluffy towels, smart tv’s etc. The terrace room had a lovely private outside courtyard on the roof, separate to the communal roof space. It also had 2 private roof top terraces with loungers and chairs which was an amazing surprise! They were in the sun all day and you could even catch a glimpse of the colosseum. It was great to explore in the morning and then retire to the sun roof tops in the afternoons which is a very rare opportunity on a city break! Roberto & co were absolutely lovely and went above and beyond (including bringing breakfast up to the private terrace for us!). They also provided advice for tours and organised our taxi to the airport. All seamless and easy which made our stay more relaxing. Location was great with lots of local restaurants, a very well stocked supermarket and gelato shop on the doorstep. It’s great to find a hotel that ticks all the boxes in one of your favourite cities to return to, which we certainly will. ❤️
