We were 13 friends who spent 3 nights at The Red Earth Kabini. The staff were very pleasant and obliging, and the food was really Excellent. Our cottages had a front veran***, leading to a semi covered space with a hot tub made of stone, flanked by 2 very large chairs , a coffee table, and a large slatted table to keep one's suitcase on. Unfortunately, the hot tub was full off dust and a few leaves in and around it, so was very uninviting. This space led to our bedroom, which was spacious, with a very comfortable bed, with spotlessly clean linen. But the rest of the bedroom had a lot of wooden furniture, cupboard, table , etc, which looked dusty and unpolished. There was one chair, whose seat was stained a dirty yellow, so we couldn't bring ourselves to use it. There was a flat screen TV that did not work, and a safe that didnt work as well. The attached bathroom was very large and clean and spacious, with really good, scalding hot water in the shower, so no complaints there. The bedroom led out to the back veran***,overlooking the forested property, with a very appealing view, with 2 large leather chairs, which Looked good , but were extremely uncomfortable. The only way to sit in them was to line the chair with 2 pillows from the bedroom. The staff booked us for an evening safari, which was brilliant, as we sighted a tiger right away, who walked across , marked a tree, crossed the road, went and sat in the water body to cool off, yawned, groomed herself, stretched, and basically gave us an amazing sighting, barely 10 feet away, before slowly walking off into the forest for a nap, without 120 odd gawking hu***s. This resort is kid friendly, has a nice cafe called wonky monkey, with books, games, and some interesting memorabilia. But everything looks dusty and worn. If only the ***agement can spruce up this aspect, it would completely change the look of this resort.
