Hotel Belle-Vue Vieux-Port

The hotel smells bad, the rooms are very small; they are lairs liars , the checked me with the ac not working mid July . They did not fix it and they pretend they don’t know . We stayed in the mid July without ac . I don’t recommend it .

If I could give Zero Stars I would. Please don't even consider staying here. I arrived in M****ille Vieux Port approximately 8:30 am, May 17. Arriving that early was the only option due to my unforeseen transportation constraints. I carted my luggage up the flight of stairs to the reception desk of Hotel Bellevue to announce my arrival, acknowledging that I was certainly too early to check in. They had me just leave my bags next to the desk and told me I could not check in until 3:30. So I used the toilettes (which were rather sketchy) and went for a walk. A few hours later I checked with the desk and used the sketchy toilettes again. I was glad to see my bags were presumably safely stored somewhere. Every staff in the reception area and bar/restaurant that I encountered the entire day were unfriendly, unhelpful, condescending, and arrogant. Nobody acknowledged my presence. When I inquired about my room and bags I was given the same terse refrain, “your room will be ready at 3:30.” Not even “your room will be ready at 3:30, madam.” I walked to find a more appetizing place to have a meal. Then walked some more. There is no lobby, no lounge, no respite at the Hotel Bellevue. If you want to sit you have to go into the bar and buy something. I returned at approximately 1 pm. Because the receptionist did not acknowledge me as I passed by and he had seen me numerous times throughout the day I assumed my room was not ready. (In fact, he made a point of looking down as though he were busy with something.) I could not stand the thought of another condescending response of “your room will be ready at 3:30.” I bought a pastis in the bar and rested awhile. When I left I asked if I could charge it to my room. “Non.” So I asked again if my room was ready. “Your room will be ready at 3:30.” Went for another walk. Came back to the bar around 2:30. “Your room will be ready at 3:30.” So I had a glass of rose. When I asked for water I was given a small glass of tepid water when all other patrons were given a carafe of chilled water as soon as they sat down. I had been walking all day in the heat and was visibly sweating. I paid for my wine at 3:30 and asked the barman, who had been the receptionist when I first arrived, if he knew if my room was ready. He looked at me like I had horns growing out of my head and said he had no idea. My room was ready. Who knows how long it had been ready. Why couldn’t someone fetch me from around the corner in the bar or text me to tell me my room was ready?! For all I knew it may have been ready since noon! I was put on the fifth floor. The elevator only goes to the 4th floor. At least I didn’t have to cart my bags up another flight of narrow stairs because they had put my bags in my room. It was the attic. I had specifically reserved a more expensive room with a side view because I did not want to be in a cramped attic room for three days. It was hot. It was the attic. It was tiny. Gorgeous location and great side view of the port from our window. Good facilities, eco friendly and helpful staff. Loved the bar on the first floor. You have to be able to carry your case up to reception on floor one then there is a lift. Even the ferry across the harbour is nearby and takes 2 minutes for 50 cents.

My husband and I had a delightful stay at Hotel Belle-Vue. It’s true: the view over the harbor and of the facing hillside is quite beautiful. We found the room to be very comfortable, the staff friendly, and the bar/lounge convenient. Were we to return to M****ille, it would be our pleasure to also return to Hotel Belle-Vue.

Nice staff, nice bar on 1st floor which is good for a snack and one for the road, nice view over the harbor, renovated small but good bathrooms!! And lots of restaurants around!! Would go there again! ………………………………………………………………………………………………

We had an excellent welcome and one of the best views of M****ille from our hotel window, where we could see Notre Dame de La Garde looking over at us from her high perch! Our room had a super-size bed and all comforts you could possibly require. Amazing breakfast, which was not the usual continental breakfast, everything about this charming hotel is so very different. I would add that the two receptionists were as delightful as the hotel and made our stay extra special! We will always remember our stay here. We love M****ille in any case. It has a buzz similar to New York and we are always happy to return!

My first hotel stay in France. I read about this hotel in old books, and despite the comments about stairs, air conditioning and hot water, I had to try it. The young people at the front desk were helpful and eager to please. The temperature was always fine (I travel with a fan), there was ample hot water, and the view was unbelievable. Watching all the people go by at all hours, zipping by on scooters, on top of buses, was a delight. I wish I could have stayed longer! The Radisson, by contrast, was a dungeon. Treat yourself!

Great little hotel in the perfect location in M****ille. Don't be put off by the steps up to the hotel, and the rather basic reception -- the rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff are pleasant and helpful, and the views from the rooms are excellent! Breakfast in the bar area was decent, with a nice basket of bread and pastries. Parking is possible in the nearby multi-storey Q-Park Vieux Port / Hôtel de Ville for 15 euro for 24 hours. Get your ticket from reception in advance, or buzz the parking attendant and tell them you're a guest of the hotel. Would definitely stay here again if in M****ille.

The hotel location is very convenient, the view is unforgettable. People working in the hotel are very kind and nice, they are smile all the day. The food in the bar is very delicious, my wife likes the Aioli fish cooking very much. It was a very happy stay, I will go back again.
