Palazzo Ridolfi - Residenza d'Epoca

There are so many positives to say about where we stayed, Palazzo Bianca Cappello. Just google it - charming history here and it's a stop on some tours offered in historic Florence. The facade of this building is breathtaking. Its proximity is perfect to the bridges, downtown shopping areas, cafes, Uffizi, and just about everything you could want to see/do in historic Florence. It's a bit of walk (~15-20m with luggage) over very bumpy terrain to the train station, so just prepare yourself. The Royale Suite was lovely - recently renovated with a very comfortable sofa. Murals on all the walls. The room was a little dark and not much natural light. Shower and bathroom were modern and clean. Peaceful and quiet. No complaints for our stay, we really enjoyed it. Beware that the check-in office is in the building across the street and you will either need to squeeze into a tiny, old lift or walk up 4 flights of stairs with your luggage.

This is a very old run down building. We had the Royal Suite and it was not like in the pictures. I asked specifically about laundry services and they said (as on the website) that they can provide it. When we got there and asked about it the lady (after saying they did not offer that) said that she would have to do the laundry and it could take several days OR we can go to a laundry mat an do it ourselves!!! I had also let them know that I am allegeric to feather bedding- they said they would try to accommodate me. They were NOT about to and I got very sick that night. I have never had any problems at any other place I have ever stayed to have hyper allergenic bedding. We left the next morning- and because we could not call them (only available 9am to 8pm) I sent them an email letting them know what happened and why we could not stay there. They didn't even respond to me until later that afternoon! They would also not refund me! Its completely unacceptable.

Convenient location. Really big clean rooms and price was very competitive. While the rooms are modern don’t expect a modern hotel feel. Rather, you feel like you are living in Florence. Most importantly the people who work there, and specifically the woman that checked us in could not have been more friendly and helpful. She was genuine and nice and made us feel at home. Every hotel should be staffed with people like her.

What a fabulous place to stay! The Staff were extremely helpful! All of their recommendations were amazing, especially the first night dinner! The rooms were huge, gorgeous and clean! I highly recommend this place to stay and would definitely stay here again when I return to Florence!

A lovely hotel in an old residence, with most rooms and dining/reception in main building and some suites in another building across the road (built for the mistress of the original occupant of the hotel). Well appointed rooms with the original building hotel rooms being sympathetic to the style of the building and the suites being surprisingly quirky in their finishings (in a nice way). Access is via a small elevator lift with a manual door which is fun. Some of the main rooms do require access via internal stairs. Very helpful and friendly staff providing personalised service, and located within a close walk of the river and all the main tourist sites

We stayed at the Palazzo Ridolfi for the second time last week because we enjoyed our stay soo much the first time we visited 5 years ago. Unfortunately upon going back for a second visit we were greatly disappointed and felt like the 700 euros we paid for two nights was extreme for the room we received. The staff are lovely and the location is fantastic, however, that is where our experience stopped. Visiting Florence you want to have some kind of view, however, our suite was awkwardly placed in the lobby (literally the lady on reception sits just outside your door so could hear even a pin drop in your room..beware there is NO way to have a romantic evening) and we looked at walls of buildings next door outside our window. Last time we stayed we paid just 400 euros for the apar**ent for two nights (also in peak season so for what we got for 700 euros which was meant to be a “suite” was really disappointing. The apar**ent is a beautiful room away from the lobby area with amazing views across Florence. I would not recommend this hotel unless you were able to get the apar**ent. As we were leaving there were other guests complaining also about their room which was meant to have an “en-suite” but only had a toilet and sink on a different floor and bath in the room. On top of the poor room I would not recommend paying extra for breakfast as it is extremely limited and not good at all. You are much better to go downstairs and find a cafe for breakfast. It would be much cheaper and if higher quality. Also do not take the advice to eat at Tamero restaurant from staff (there must be a commission for this restaurant that the hotel receives as they advised the same restaurant last time). The restaurant was amongst the worst we ate at our entire 2 weeks in Italy and expensive. The pizza is not good at all! This restaurant is very commercial and full of tourists who have been ****** in to a very average experience… I guess other hotels nearby also get a commission for sending patrons down the road ??

We had a fantastic 5 night stay at Palazzo Ridolfi in Florence. It started well, being greeted on the street so you did not miss the hotel, and then had a great introduction by our host, who recommended some things to do, and places to eat. The location of this hotel, near Spirito Santo, is perfect. The hotel room is as good, if not better than it appears on the photos, and was perfectly clean, great air conditioning, amazing staff, amazing location.

We enjoyed a fantastic weekend at Palazzo Ridolfi. It’s an ancient building right next to Santa Maria de Fiore cathedral, Galleria degli Uffizi ed all major attractions in the very center. Our room was beautifully designed and furnished, with a touch of glam. Breakfast was truly enjoyable and part of the quality experience.

I would have gave it 4.5 but you can’t, the hotel is beautiful, the staff amazing and cleanliness up with the best, the location is also top notch. Where it lets itself down is the air conditioning, just not powerful enough, to cope with the heat this month also the coffee in the room, this is Italy, they in our opinion make the best coffee in the world, so a lavazza machine would have made it a 5
