"Highly recommended for solo female travelers. The hotel has a great location, about a 5-minute walk from Florence SMN station, making it very convenient for getting around. It's about a 10-minute walk to the Florence Cathedral (Santa Maria del Fiore), and about a 20-minute walk to the Uffizi Gallery and the Ponte Vecchio (Old Bridge). Basically, all the attractions are within walking distance, eliminating transportation costs. It's also very convenient to take the train to other places. I stayed in a 4-person female room in the basement of another building next door. There are three 4-person rooms in that building, all occupied by women, making it very safe. There's also a kitchen with basic ingredients available for your convenience, which was excellent. The only drawback is the two smaller shower rooms, which don't have hooks on the wall for hanging anything. I recommend the hostel equip a few hooks on the walls for ladies to hang personal belongings. Overall, though, I highly recommend staying there."

"Title: Disappointing Experience That Didn’t Match the Photos I booked a Premium room specifically because the listing photos showed blue-sky views and a golden dome. However, upon arrival I was assigned a room on the first floor facing a dark, rundown alley—nothing like the images. The bathroom also didn’t match the photos: it was much smaller, with virtually no counter space. When I raised this with the hotel, I was told I hadn’t booked a “Premium room with view.” At the time of booking, my only options were: a cheaper “Deluxe,” a more expensive “Premium,” and a “Suite.” As a guest, I relied on the photos shown for the Premium category, which all featured a view. The mismatch felt misleading. I asked about changing rooms, but was told the hotel was fully booked and that they had already given me a “larger” room of 20 m². The stated size range for the Premium room is 18–23 m², so this didn’t resolve the core issue—the lack of the view shown in the photos. After persistent requests, I was offered a second-floor room in another building without an elevator. That room had a larger bathroom but a smaller bedroom, and the window opened directly onto exhaust vents. It wasn’t a viable alternative. Overall, this was a disappointing experience for a five-star property. While staff were polite in manner, the room assignment and photo discrepancy felt misleading, and there was no practical solution offered despite the hotel being aware of the issue. To add to the frustration, I later noticed my luggage had been dented. In summary: the Premium room I received did not match the advertised images—especially the view and bathroom—and the lack of clear labeling (e.g., “with view” vs. “no view”) led to unmet expectations. I hope the hotel updates its listings to accurately reflect room types and views so future guests can book with confidence."

"B&B Cimatori is THE place to stay in Florence! You're within walking distance to the Duomo, et al, but also a few streets away in a more "locals'" neighborhood. Patricia, the proprietor, who makes wonderful pastries, is also an expert on art, history, and what to do and see in the city. She's an excellent resource and great company in the mornings. And the rooms are spacious, comfortable, and clean. And on top of all that, Patricia was generous enough to give us one of her umbrellas when we otherwise would have gotten soaked waiting at the taxi stand to return to the train station. That umbrella covered us from Firenze to Roma, and many small (very wet) towns in between. Thank you, Patricia, and to the rest of you, stay here! You'll be so glad you did!"
