Twenty four hour reception. Arrived early hours of the morning to a warm welcome. Free tea and coffee .Safe, secure, clean and warm. Great location. Breakfast was self service from 8am till 10am with eggs,cereal,toast, butter, jam, honey, orange juice. As a hosteller I find the staff of any venue make the difference. To the team 10 out of 10 from me.

Perfect location. Comfortable beds, good breakfast, amazing staff. I had some problems to find it the first night because the name of the hostel is not in the street is other name. I would definitely stay here if I came again to Edinburgh.nice a**osphere with other travellers

The staff was really lovely, everyone very nice and helpful. The bed not bad at all (if you don't mind a crowded bedroom). The bathroom though was terrible. Only 2 working showers and 1 of them with a nasty clogged drain that left me with water up to my ankles in 5min. 2 toilets, with very small sinks. Breakfast is fair, though quite small area for a lot of people and I must say it starts rather late (8am). Good value for money though, really well located so all in all, 6 out of 10.

In a very nice location close to all sightseeing areas. value of money and clean. Staff were very helpful. However they have only two toilets in the whole building and that makes it inconvenient for almost everyone to use it when they need it, especially in the morning.

Fantastic staff, lovely a**osphere, and international guests. Woderful stay. Will be back! Not cramped like other Edinburgh Hostals. Wonderful hot showers. Well equipped kitchen and a free breakfast. Unfortunately I was leaving at 5 am for work so missed this, however coffee was available and welcome!

Staff was not very accommodating to the guests staying there. Whenever there is an issue they will ignore it like it will go away or provide a temporary solution that is worse in the long term for guests. 2 of the showers were not working and it’s get really crowded plus it’s boys and girls restroom with only 2 showers and 2 toilets. When I showered the water was literally above my ankles at the end. It’s very hard to get breakfast because it’s so crowded. It seems that the staff doesn’t really care much at all. I would not stay here again.

I think they should be more clear about how small the dormitories are, they squeezed 3 triple bunk beds in a very small hot room, I never even stayed a night... although it was safe and secure and very low cost and central but not one if you are bothered by having lots of people in your room turning lights on all night etc.

The best hostel i have ever been in Edinburgh, great location we very helpful and friendly team, the kitchen is very good and accessible you will not need any thing to bring just you food to cock, the bed was very comfortable and clean room, however i would love to do it again

I loved my short stay at the Baxter. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the facilities were all I hoped for. Breakfast was a bonus. The close proximity to transport, especially to the airport was so convenient. I don't have any negatives from my stay.
