La Chartreuse - Bordeaux

We stayed for 5 nights in the chambre "Marie Brizard", located on the first floor of the beautifully restored building. This spacious room has been decorated with exquisite taste, and has its own private terrace. The house is set back from the road, which ensures a perfectly quiet environment. Breakfast was generous and we felt that the owners, Pierre and Pascale, are fully committed to providing the best possible experience for their guests. No detail has been overlooked. In addition, "La Chartreuse" is located within comfortable walking distance of the centre of Bordeaux.

We had an enjoyable three days at La Chartreuse. It is spotlessly clean, and good choice of decor ,quiet, good breakfast and Pierre is a lovely host. Only small criticism, it would be nice to have two chairs in a double room. But this is often the case in hotels. If we need to stay in Bordeaux again then this is the choice for us. Gill & Ron.

Great B&B in Bordeaux. We chose this one based on reviews and location, and we were not disappointed. You'd never know there was a B&B behind the imposing security gate until it opens. Our room was spacious, and the bathroom was functional with a good sized shower. Very good breakfast. Very quiet as it's located in a residential street away from central Bordeaux, but you can reach that area via a 30 minute walk, or a tram (nearest stop about 5 minutes walk). Pierre is a great host - recommended.

This is a very well run and beautiful place. Tasteful in every respect. Pierre has perfected the difficult task of being there if needed yet unobtrusive. We stayed in the self-contained Marie Brizard suite for three very comfortable and quiet nights. If you’ve a small car and you ask Pierre he might be able to garage it on site otherwise secure parking is just a ten minute walk away. Nearest tram stop about five minutes walk at St Bruno and that gets you into town cheaply and reliably. Two full days wasn’t long enough to see all Bordeaux has to offer and three nights not nearly long enough to enjoy the many great and varied restaurants so we’ll be back one day.

Very nice stay at this hotel, great location for walking through downtown. Quiet and very comfortable bed and room, delicious petit breakfast. We had a great time in Bordeaux and this hotel was a big reason. Can't wait to come back. You must stay here!

This was a really good find. A lovely C19 double-fronted house with mansard roof (very attractive) set back behind metal gates within its own small, well-designed garden within 15m walk of the city centre. Do not be put off by the immediate local area which is somewhat less appealing; for us, this turned out to be a secluded jewel in a small world of its own and is very convenient for all that the city has to offer. Wonderfully run by Pierre and Pascale, it offered a very comfortable quite large, quiet room, a lovely bed with a superb mattress offering a great night’s sleep, a delicious breakfast and parking in the property (if you get your bid in sufficiently early – if not, the alternative is only 10m walk away). If in Bordeaux, this is an experience which should not be missed.

We would recommend this lovely bed and breakfast. Excellent communication from Pierre before arrival. We stayed in a spacious room with a terrace - very comfortable bed, air conditioning and good hot shower. Pierre served a tasty continental breakfast with pastries, fruit, yoghurt, cheese etc There was an honesty fridge with soft drinks, and also complimentary coffee in the breakfast room. Secure entrance, and 20 minute walk to old town. We wished that we could have stayed longer! Many thanks

The owners of this hotel have created an oasis of beauty and kindness close to everything you want to see in Bordeaux. The rooms are large, attractive, clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were delicious and ample. The hosts went so far out of their way to help us with everything - even having to call our airline to help us find our luggage. They gave us a city map with routes and highlights. It was an amazing place to stay and we highly recommend Pierre and Pastelle.

Pierre's House is so beautiful and confortable, he was so kind with us. We stayed only one night because of our trip and i'm sure we will come back as soon as we can. Very recommended for a couple trip.
