I've had my fair share of afternoon teas, but this ancient-style tea with a modern twist is truly delightful. On this day, my friend and I once again indulged in the exquisite flavors of ancient cuisine, savoring the intricate tastes of the royal court. From the moment we stepped into Lion Rock, it felt like entering a deep palace. We slowed our pace to soak in the elegant ambiance of the past. The presentation of the ancient-modern afternoon tea is incredibly Instagram-worthy! The intricate designs of both savory and sweet treats will make you want to spend extra time taking photos. You can choose from specialty drinks, coffee, classic teas, or flavored teas for your afternoon tea. Naturally, we opted for the beautiful and delicious specialty drinks. The Hawthorn Jasmine Milk Tea with Milk Foam is presented with a striking hairpin adorned with dried hawthorn, floating atop the smooth and decadent milk foam. The combination of the tangy hawthorn and jasmine milk tea is both refreshing and filling. For my friend who prefers hot drinks, the Longan Red Date Goji Berry Tea was perfect! It contains nourishing red dates and goji berries, paired with the sweet and soothing longan for a delightful and healthful drink. Just look at the exquisite presentation of the various savory and sweet treats! It took me over half an hour just to take photos, and they were so beautiful that I hesitated to eat them. Let me start with the five beautifully presented royal-style savory treats! The Sake Abalone with Plum Wine Jelly Radish is a must-try! The abalone, prepared with sake, has a tender and chewy texture, infused with the aroma of sake. The plum wine jelly adds a tangy flavor, making it a perfect first bite. The Snow Crab Meat and Caviar Salad in Cucumber Cup offers a refreshing taste! The sweet and fresh snow crab meat is complemented by the salty and savory caviar, adding a touch of luxury and elevating the flavor. The crisp cucumber balances the taste, making it even more delightful. The Spanish Pork and Truffle Salad in Crispy Puff is a rich and flavorful treat! The crispy puff is filled with aromatic truffle salad and chewy pork, offering a complex and satisfying texture. The Lobster Toast is a delicious bite of crispy toast filled with fresh lobster, providing a delightful crunch and savory taste. Lastly, the Cumin Beef Pie is a favorite of my friend! It has a crispy texture and is filled with fragrant cumin-flavored beef, making it irresistibly tasty. The sweet treats are even more impressive in appearance! The designs of the jade seal, lychee, pagoda, and brush are so realistic that they are a feast for the eyes. The Matcha Custard Mooncake combines the flavors of matcha and custard, offering a smooth and sweet taste that is very appealing. The Sesame Mousse Cake has a majestic appearance! The bouncy mousse cake is filled with rich sesame flavor, leaving a lingering taste that is very memorable. The Lychee Pudding reminds me of the famous beauty Yang Guifei! Its rosy appearance is very eye-catching, and the soft pudding is filled with lychee aroma, making it irresistibly fragrant and delicious. The Purple Sweet Potato Mochi Puff, shaped like a unique brush, is truly astonishing! The purple sweet potato puff is dipped in black honey syrup, creating a delicious and beautiful treat. The ancient-modern afternoon tea is available from now until December 15th, every Tuesday to Sunday from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, priced at $278 per person or $548 for two.
