Katamah Guesthouse

What an amazing place! From the warm welcome and orientation to the community, to the always helpful staff, this was just the place i needed to relax and decompress. The community surrounding the guest house is small but welcoming and friendly. The beach is wonderful and the room we had was perfect. If you are looking for mellow good vibes in a beautiful place then don't wait. Go to Treasure beach

When we booked this place and received emails with rules and ‘do and do nots’ we started to regret that we had booked this expensive place (the most expensive during our 14 days roundtrip in Jamaica). These mails didn’t feel very welcoming. Katamah is located at the beach side on a plot of land where different rooms are spread. You are able to walk from the premises straight into the sea. We stayed in the ‘Berry room’ and were not impressed. The room (on top of another room) is big but dark and with a view on some other houses. It is advertised with a kitchenette which is however not really a kitchenette (much too small). The joint kitchen in the middle of the premises is however pleasant and we enjoyed buying lobster from the sailors and preparing them ourselves. Restaurants and some very small ‘shops’ are around at walking distance (including a superb bakery with nice pastry and quiche). The caretaker is a lovely lady but as soon as she is not around the young helpers are not providing professional service. When we left, they did not have a clue about the bill and we opened the gate ourselves wondering why no one locked it after us (safety?). In short, we think you pay too much for definitely not enough a**osphere and service.

I had the best stay at Katamah! I spent a week here and didn't want to leave. This unique hotel / guesthouse option adds to the magic Treasure Beach. Katamah is perfect for a solo traveler who seeks independence and a restful experience, but also doesn't want to feel isolated. This place has a very special blend of bohemian charm, beach vibes and jungle all in one. Moni is too wonderful - welcoming, helpful and kind - along with her team. I stayed in the Marika suite, which is right on the ocean and has a beautiful porch to fully enjoy views of the beach. From the day I booked months ago until the day I arrived the communication was helpful and Moni was always accessible The accommodations were clean, safe and comfortable. The grounds are beautiful and refreshing. The beach is practically private and so serene. The location is perfetd - all of the local restaurants, bars, shops, sites, etc. are accessible - most by walking - or Moni and her team help with drivers, boats, etc. to take you on further excursions. Everything was perfect. Highly recommend!

Beautiful, rustic, “glamping” style hotel - only spent 1 night but left wanting to stay longer. The hosts were extremely accommodating, friendly, genuine and welcoming. The rooms, although small, offered a very relaxing escape. Treasure beach was calm, quiet and beautiful. The hosts were also very understanding towards the late check-out (as we arrived quite late the evening before). The beauty of this guesthouse was in its simplicity of escapism. Overall, excellent experience and will be returning!

Professional staff, very approachable. Well kept. Clean, cozy, and relaxing rooms. Will definitely come back. Affordable price, beachfront property with great sunsets. Many nearby restaurants and yoga classes around the corner.!!!

Katamah is the best place to relax and disconnect for a while in Jamaica. Treasure beach is a beautiful area full of nice restaurants and bars and the people there is awesome. Staff in Katamah is always welcoming and helpful. I forgot a bag there, they contacted me to inform me, and they went above and beyond to ensure the bag reached back to me. I recommend this place 1000%

Katamah was a delicious discovery in Treasure Beach! Moni, made sure everything I needed for my stay was available. The grounds are really lovely and the cabin, Maya, a refreshing refuge! I will certainly be back!

My second stay at Katamah was much needed after a really hard year and work stress. It was just what the doctor ordered! The staff are lovely, helpful and welcoming - which felt authentic, not a forced 'touristy' approach. I was able to retreat or interact with guests andor staff as much as I liked and didn't feel pressured at all. Moni recommended a locl massage therapist Empress Thandi who came to my cabin and gave me the absolute best massage I have ever had. I love Treasure Beach, it's one of my favourite places in the world. Katamah is one of the reasons why - I can't wait to go back!

I have traveled the world and stayed in all sorts of places, from the funkiest to the most lavish. I must say that the hospitality, welcome, and sheer beauty of Katamah is over the top. Such a gorgeous setting, anything you need will be accommodated, the uniqueness of the property and it's amazing location, and again and always, the staff and family who run this place are so heart-centered and generous. I visit Treasure Beach regularly, and it is my only go-to place when I'm there. It's simple -- just choose Katamah and you will surely have an amazing experience!
