Value for money for a Friday night stay. Location of this Travelodge is off a not too busy A-roads roundabout so it is relatively quiet. Large room with all basic but decent facilities you would expect from Travelodge including king size comfy bed, electric kettle, free drinks (good PG tea), heating, TV, and shower & toilet. Next to Travelodge are 3 fast-food venues (Subways, Greggs & Burger King) and a petrol service station with shop, so good options for breakfast & dinner though please note, all 3 food shops close early in the evening around 6:30pm. Not a problem, as you can drive into Thraspston the market town which is 5 minutes away. The town has a few pubs which serve food, 2 fish & chips shops, one bakery and one tea room. On Saturday, there is an open market with a few stalls & delicatessen selling fresh produces and quality food. St James, Church of England which is right in the middle of the town, is also running a regular Saturday morning slot (10:30am - 12:30pm), serving decent tea, good filtered coffee & biscuits which can be purchased with 'free will offering'. So you are spoiled for choice. Worth mentioning is the Farmers Market (hence the name for Thrapston the market town) held on the first Saturday of each month where small holding of livestock are auctioned - an eye opening event for many visiting city people. All in all, this has made our stay at Thrapston Travelodge even more special and memorable.
