Prior to arriving at the guest house, I sent an email asking if we would be able to leave our bags there as we would be arriving around 12:00 when check-in isn't until 14:00. They responded promptly and mentioned that it isn't an issue. When we arrived, we were a little confused as to where to go as you are greeted with an 'old-style' elevator and stairs. We began walking up the stairs and on the second floor, someone asked if we are staying at Trevi Elite, to which we stated we are. This was a member of staff, who checked us in and informed us that our room is ready. This was a pleasant surprise! We stayed in Room 1, also called the 'Fountain Room'. When entering the room, it was very modern and well presented. The bed only had one pillow per person, I understand this is a personal preference however, I have always prefered two. I did not need to ask for another one as there was a spare bed and I borrowed the pillow from there. There was a small table which is useful for eating on, however, there was only one chair - this is a bit odd for a three-person room! Whilst the rooms have air conditioning, this cannot be controlled by the controller on the wall. For some reason, the controller is locked and the only way the air conditioning can be turned on is by a member of staff. This is particularly frustrating when you get hot in the middle of the night, and can't turn it on and you don't want to open the windows and get woken up early in the morning by the outside noise! I must add that the soundproof windows installed are very effective and I was very impressed! Another issue we found was that the light as you enter the room is on a sensor, there is no manual switch for this light. This means that when you are trying to go to sleep, you cannot turn all the lights off, you have to wait 10-15 minutes for the motion sensor light to turn off, this was frustrating. It also means, every time you go to the toilet at night, you walk past the sensor, and the light comes on for another 10-15 minutes. A third issue we had was that the drain in the shower had a horrible smell coming from it, the smell was similar to the smell of rotten eggs. I went and told the staff member that was at the front desk, and he knew about this issue. He was helpful in that he got a bunch of chemicals and poured them down the drain and gave us a bottle of air freshener to spray the bathroom with when the smell came back. The smell did come back, the air freshener helped, however, did not get rid of the smell. Whilst breakfast is included, it is not the best breakfast in the world. You go through to a room and we were greeted by a member of staff that couldn't speak any English. In order to speak to us, she had to call someone else and passed the phone to us. We were offered a croissant and then a coffee or orange juice. The croissant was stale and the coffee, despite just coming out of a machine was cold and did not taste very nice. My partner spotted cereal on the side,
