Grecotel Creta Palace

We’ve recently spent 2 weeks at Grecotel Creta Palace with our 1 year old baby. It is well located and easy to get to. We had a few issues with the room on first night of our stay but they were quickly dealt with by the staff on shift, management however did not reach out to us without prompting 2 days after and were happy with how they dealt with it in the end. Isabella at the front desk was very helpful and friendly. We left our pram at the car hire centre 1 hour away but she helped get hold of one for the next day. The outdoor pools are lovely old but fairly well maintained, the main pool is very deep for 90% of it. We did plan on using the indoor one when the weather wasn’t so good but we didn’t in the end as it was a bit disappointing and slightly neglected by the hotel. The kids pool is ok but slightly wild with no rotation of lifeguard (who also didn’t seem to pay much attention). We were greeted at the entrance of the main restaurant by the lovely Maria who made us feel so welcome. We enjoyed talking to her every day before going in. She was also great with our baby! We were impressed by the variety and the quality of the food. There was also a great selection of desserts. The hotel is very family friendly. Grecoland has plenty of toys and activities to keep them occupied. The tasty corner is a nice touch as they have access to snacks and drinks throughout the day. Overall we had a wonderful family holiday. The first week was probably better as the hotel had just re-opened for the season and didn’t feel as busy as the second week. Whenever we swapped our dinner for lunch it always seemed nice and quiet and breakfast before 8:30 was much quieter.

The rooms are ok… maybe the balcony will be better if will be a little bit larger. The pillows are amazing and also the temperature in the room is quite good. The location of the hotel very good. 700-800m to all taverns and shopping markets… and also about 5-7min taxi from rethymnon city center / harbour where you can dine spectaculary. Huuuuge beach with restaurant on the beach where you can have seafood, fish, etc. Bar inside preety good with a lot of fine spirits and i must say particulary about Katerina who welcomes us…. Amazing and very warm person. Such a elegant and lovely lady and so well inform us about everything. 6* for her. If the pool was heated it was perfect. Nothing else but good

We’ve had the best stay. The quality and indulgence in every step of our stay was amazing. Great food, everything is super clean and the staff is so welcoming and kind. Great facilities for our girls (11 & 8). Also highly recommandable for eating glutenfree. So much attentention.

a hotel should be my home away from home, keeping me relaxed after the slow traffic , after exploring wonderful Creta. starting with a large parking, welcome by friendly people, offering quality services, the live music in the evening, having an amazing beach and a large pool, excellent food, clean and cozy, Creta Palace is an excellent place to stay.

I recently stayed at this hotel and it exceeded all my expectations! The staff were fantastic, incredibly friendly, and they really went above and beyond to ensure every guest felt special. The food was delicious, and I could tell that a lot of care went into maintaining the quality of service. The hotel grounds were beautifully maintained, with direct access to the beach and a fantastic beach bar with comfortable loungers. The management team clearly takes great pride in ensuring that every guest has the best possible experience during their stay. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway. 5 out of 5 stars!

We got married at Grecotel Creta Palace in Sept 2023. We felt we were in the movies and we were living in a dream! It was like a fairytale and so much better than we even imagined! Words are not enough to describe that day and night! It all started with George (Revenue Manager) who confirmed availability and accommodated our wedding group after all the back and forth a wedding group has, then Argyro (the Events Manager) took over and she was an absolute legend! She was helping us from day one and nothing was too much or impossible! Eleni (the Restaurant Manager) and her team were superstars! They delivered such an exceptional service and all of our guests were looked after and enjoyed their time 100%. Attention to detail is an understatement! Also to mention the team at the beach bar and especially Marina who went above and beyond every single day! The housekeeping team were also amazing and so helpful! My husband and I are also hoteliers and it is usually difficult to be impressed, as we know the dos and don’ts and what makes a hotel stay great; however, we were impressed from the very first second! You can clearly see that everyone working there is there because they love what they do! Thank you all so much for making this trip so memorable and making our special day a day out of a fairytale!

After leaving from this hotel, I couldn't resist to write a review and share my experience with potential travellers. I felt like for 1st time in my travel life not wishing to leave from a hotel. As soon as you arrive at this hotel, you feel that your holidays start in the best way; amazing gardens full of nature and a wide variety of flowers and trees making the whole scenery looking like a scene from a fairy tale. As you enter the lobby, an amazing fragrance makes you feel the positive vibes of this place. They offered as a selection of welcome drinks, such a nice touch of hospitality! The gentleman who welcomed us was very polite and friendly and willing to assist in any possible way. Our room, the Palace guestroom was so well designed offering the luxurious sense of a 5* hotel and had a balcony with beautiful sea views. I want to make a special mention to their housekeeping depar**ent who do an excellent job! They were tidying and cleaning the room so well and always leaving flowers on the towels while they had given to the towels so beautiful shapes of flowers! Room service was very quick too. All the staff members at every area such as the front desk, the breakfast area, the bar areas had always a warm smile and greeting us making us feel like home. The breakfast is so rich and delicious which is one of the highlights of this 5* hotel. It seems to be a place of heaven for all the ages and especially for the kids who seemed to spend lovely time. This must be definitely your only choice for accommodation at Rethymno and you won't regret it! I am already missing it and look forward to getting back soon!!

Went to Creta palace for 10 days in October with my 2 year old. We all had a great time. The rooms were a good size, with good facilities and were cleaned every day to a high standard. Everyone working there are friendly and helpful. The kids pool is great for all ages, with 2 fun slides. The beach is very nice and sandy (and personally think the reviews moaning about the sharp stones are going over the top). The sea was warm in October with plenty of sun beds all day. Although our son was too young for the kids club, we went over there every day and he played with all the toys. The playground was also really good. Only downside was that we all got bitten my mosquitoes over there - I dont know if there's a way to control that. The breakfast and dinners had a big selection of lots of food which was all tasty. It was a bit busy, though and was quite stressful at busy times. Not particularly refined but you know what you are getting. A real highlight for us was that our sons lunch was free in the kids corner with a decent selection of food for him. We ate at 2 of the a la carte restaurants and although the food in both was good, they were extremely expensive. Finally, the kids disco every night was good fun (although 10 days of the same songs was a bit mind-numbing) and we enjoyed getting up for the parents dance. The entertainment after was also good fun but a mixed bag when it came to quality. Overall, a really great place we'd recommend which had a couple of minor flaws that knocked a mark off but nothing that would stop us returning.

This is the 3rd time we stayed at a Grecotel. I love this hotel chain , it is the epitome of Greek hospitality. We arrived at the creta palace late in the evening, the welcome we received from the staff was unbelievable! They escorted us to the reception area and treated us to refreshments and sweets. We’re greeted as old friends, very warm, welcoming and friendly. Besides the staff at reception, we were also greeted by , the manager as well as Panagiotis head of guest relations. After check in , Panagiotis from guest relations escorted us to our rooms . The rooms were impeccably clean, this is a major factor for me. The bathrooms large and super clean. The bed was king size with comfortable Matress and pillows, view from our balcony was dreamy (pool and sea view) . We had dinner that night at there seafood restaurant, another pleasant surprise, the serving staff at the restaurant was super professional, friendly , and the food was excellent. We spent our days lounging by the pool and beach. The service at the beach was also amazing. Our server Marina was always with a smile , tending to our every request. The food at the beach bar restaurant was sooooo good, we we’re actually surprised at the quality of their food, we also at out in rethimno at very highly rated restaurants and in the end we realised that the dinning at the hotel was superior than restaurants in rethimno! The breakfast was fantastic! So much variety and good quality food, the staff also at breakfast area was so very professional, they tireless met all our request. Mr. Lefteris the manager at the breakfast area was so helpful, on the last day my husband had an upset stomach and asked for a tea to help with his issue, Mr.Lefteris the manager said” I will prepare a special tea with Cretan herbs that will calm the stomach” literally a few minutes later an herb infused tea with a variety of Cretan herbs was brought to our table, an hour later my husbands stomach was painless! We were just blown away by such personal attention and service we received at such a large hotel. Usually these large resorts are impersonal, but this is not the case with the Grecotel chain and especially the creta palace. What also impressed us was that the staff of every depar**ent of this resort was friendly and professional, we received excellent service all across the board. Even the reservation depar**ent where we initially made our reservation was super helpful, so helpful that when we arrived we went to meet them and thank them for booking exactly what we asked for, Irini and Yuli, were the reservation agents we dealt with, they greeted us with smiles and hugs as if we were old friends. The Creta Palace exceeded our expectations, a lovely hotel with fantastic staff, fantastic food, beautiful grounds and amenities! Will definitely go back!
