Red Roof Inn Palatine

Decided to return to this hotel after a long absence. New management is excellent. From the time of check in, until the time I departed, the staff was attentive and friendly. Room was clean and well maintained. Definitely a change from the past. I will return.

OK this place is awful! At check in, the manager repeatedly admonished me for "being late" (plane landed at 12:10 and I was there at 12:45) and I was forced to apologize. Then he threatened to tow my rental car because I didn't have the plate number memorized. When I went to get my bag, was told there were "NO In and Outs!" and I was escorted to my car by the manager who stood there intrusively as I gathered my things. In the room, first thing I saw was a puddle of standing water on the bathroom floor which I wiped up with a towel, only for it to return in a couple hours--more on this in a minute. The entire room REEKED of cigarette smoke and there were cigarette burns on the sink and elsewhere. Asked for a 10 am wake-up call and promptly received it at 9am. Due to the pipe leak in the bathroom, some of my clothes that I had set out for the next day got wet. Reported this to the front desk and they immediately offered to wash them for me. However had to wear yesterdays clothes again since they didn't dry them and received my clean clothes wadded up in a plastic bag, even wetter than before. Then tried to take a shower and the drain was completely clogged. Finally when I was leaving, the manager had the cops there, was unnecessarily angry and threatening yet again to tow cars from the lot, which at the time looked about 10% capacity. Nigh**are.

Place was pretty nice and clean but they made me pay a $100 deposit that was nowhere explained and i either pay that or loose what I had already paid for the room, other than that it was a good stay

Windows don’t lock the toilets don’t flush the shower squirts brown slime and the fridge flooded the room

The lady with the blonde hair should not have a hospitality position. Let alone a management in hospitality position. That women is the PERFECT example of GHETTO. Who ever hired her should be FIRED IMMEDIATELY! Her employees should file complaints against her for how rude she is to them. She treats guest like prisoners. Reply’s “well I don’t know what you want me to do, if you don’t like it leave” is this what your company trains your management team to say? Terrible women, terrible attitude, terrible hair, terrible place. If I had to rate you on your manager at this property alone I’d give you a -20 !

The hotel staff was rude and room smelled of mildew. Front entrance door is locked and you have to wait for someone to let you in.

My husbands truck got towed !!!!! Even after the parking pass was seen in the window , management is very unprofessional. Blamed it on us . Refunded me half my deposit!!!!! Front desk was no help !!!!!!!! And was told every Saturday she’s having card towed

People screaming at each other in the lobby for at least 30 minutes. We needed a plunger and had to go to the front desk to get it and they made us bring it back down. Definitely not smoke free!

I didnt have a phone in my room. No breakfast... this is transient hotel.
