This was my boys first holiday abroad so I spent a lot of time researching where to stay within my budget and I decided on Halici hotel. We arrived at the hotel around 3am and were exhausted, check in was straight forward and I was so pleased to learn that we were on the first for with the room right near to reception as my kids were so tired! It was hot and I promised the boys the air con would cool them down. However when I turned the air con on it made no difference. It was a really old system and after 20 mins of fiddling with the controller I gave up and just went to sleep hot, it was around 28 degrees! The room was lovely in my opinion, we had three single beds, dresser area, wardrobe , fridge and balcony over looking the pool. The shower was amazing, also plenty of clean towels. We found the beds comfy throughout our whole stay. We woke up a little late on the first day, my boys were so excited for the the pool so we got ready to head down. There were no sun beds available which I expected as we were late but I did notice lots of sunbeds with towels that weren't occupied almost all day so I understood then that the task was sun bed wars..! We had our first pool day which was awesome. The choice of two pools and the kids pool. We stayed in the pool with the slide as the other pool looked more chilled with adults. My youngest loved the baby pool which by the afternoon is shaded with the big trees, brilliant! We went up to our room around 4 to chill out and get ready for tea, when reception knocked at the door and said "we change air con it won't take long" So I said yes thinking it literally wouldn't take long. The room was then filled with workmen and hotel staff so I felt like we should leave as they had drills/tools etc. We got some drinks from the pool bar and could see them working from our balcony. The kids eventually got bored and hot so we sat inside. My eldest kept checking by going back to the room to see if they had finished but they were still working. I was aware that the restaurant opened at 7pm and we were still in our sweaty pool clothes from the day. I went back to the room with the kids in the hope that I could just shower them. I signed to them that we need to shower but the lady in there just looked at me a shrugged her shoulders and said you go eat. I honestly wanted to cry, we were tired it being the first day, I spent lots of time planning outfits for the week and the thought of our first evening meal in our pool clothes really upset me. We went to the restaurant looking like tramps and I felt like everyone was just starting at us. After food we sat back in lobby area as we could see the men still working on the balcony. Eventually I'd had enough so went back to the room at 8.30pm to find it bad been completed but no one came to tell us it was finished. I understand that this is not necessarily something that will happen when you arrive so think of it as uncommon. However I do think this could have been com
