Les Tisserands

If you want to be comfortably accommodated in a great, centuries-old property in a private a**osphere with a very committed owner - and this at an absolute top price in relation to it, you have to go to Les Tisserrands in La Cambe! The location is in the middle of town, but very quiet. The property can be recognized from the outside by a red lifebuoy on the wall. The rooms are furnished and have everything you need apart from TVs and telephones. The bathroom in the hallway includes a shower and everything is clean and well maintained. The check-in and check-out times are completely flexible with the very personable owner named John Weaver. The breakfast is fresh, extensive and leaves nothing to be desired. There is also a usable garden with seating in a great a**osphere. Located in La Cambe village within walking distance to local shops. It is in a good location for accessibility to the D-Day beaches and related attractions at approximately 8-10 minutes drive. A special feature of Les Tisserrands is certainly how much John really cares about a great stay for his guests! You get tips and interesting stories based on your interests and he's a very good, helpful resource. You just feel very comfortable with him. If you add to all the exclusive flair how cheap the accommodation is in the end, you can be happy if you get a room. If you are traveling in Normandy, you should stop by him. John is a great host and he deserves great guests too!

The owner is a very nice person, easy to talk and give us a lot of local information. His first language is English, so no problem at all for English.

We spend a week at Les Tisserands recently. John (host/owner) could not have been more welcoming. From the moment we got there, we felt more like visiting family than as paying guests. Breakfast every morning was simple but a great way to start our daily adventures. John was a font of information on the local area---his suggestions of the D-Day museum and the Chateau at Balleroy were great. He knew so many restaurants that we were spoiled for choice. Overall a great vacation--would highly recommend!

Wow. Visited Normandy for a weekend and discovered this place. Located in an old farmhouse down a country lane near La Cambe, this is a great place to base your activities while visiting the beaches, cemeteries, and museums in the area. Price is right and the location can't be beat for quiet evenings. The owner John is an awesome host. He speaks good British English sand is a wealth of information about not only the history of the area, but also the good local spots. A gentleman and conversationalist who told good stories and taught me card games as we chatted into the night. Room was clean and quiet, shower was hot and had good pressure, and breakfast was simple but well done. Truly an excellent experience all the way around. Do not overlook it when visiting the area.
