Goldcity Hotel

Checked in early hours of the morning, No welcome drink and didn’t get a positive vibe, given we arrived after a long journey I would have expected a warmer welcome. We requested twin beds but were provided with a double for our party in 2 of the 3 rooms. With 5 lads aged 16-23 this was a real let down. They provided a single pop up bed which left little space to walk around. Aqua park - open 10-12 and 2-5pm during the summer, has its own bar and food. WiFi doesn’t work well here and it’s popular with kids and adults due the to slides. Shuttle service from B block and back is pretty regularly, however the one at 7pm for dinner needs to be run twice as so many people want it, some miss out. B block with the economy rooms and it’s 10-15min walk to hotel, all uphill, approx 8 flights of stairs. The swimming pool there is really quiet and big enough. There is a bar there until 11:30pm but it was always empty as most people go to the main hotel. Given the size of this block it’s really disappointing there is no food option. If you want a Turkish tea/coffee you have to go to the main hotel. Also the mini bar here consists of water only, never been to an all inclusive where they just give you water. Sink blocked, stopper removed by maintenance and never fixed to be able to fill it up with water to have a shave. They had Euro 24 football on a projector but no snacks provided- really poor from a supposed 5 star hotel. Beach is a bus journey away and they are regular. There is a bar which serves fast food, part of the all inclusive. The beach is full of little stones so forget building a sand castle! Food was good in the main buffet restaurant, never had an issue getting a table for our group of 6. It was fresh, varied and tasty and the staff were great. Games room where billiards, arcade games and bowling at an extra cost. Drinks here have to be paid for and not part of the all inclusive. The shop is a rip off and I would avoid, but there are no other options as we are so far from anywhere. Pide and traditional Turkish bread station was good.

First of all I will start with the positives, overall we did have a great family holiday there is so much to do at the hotel, great water park bowling indoor cinemas huge pools never had an issue finding sun loungers kids really had the best time! Now for the negatives, AVOID THE SHOP IN THE HOTEL (supermarket) THEY CONSTANTLY STEAL YOUR MONEY BECAUSE THE HOTEL IS SO FAR OUT THEY KNOW YOU NEED TO USE IT! ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS MY KIDS WERE CHARGED £27 FOR 2 CANS OF JUICE AND A CHOCOLATE BAR NO JOKES!!! ALSO THEY WANTED £70 FOR A FLOATIE PLEASE TAKE MY ADVICE AMD DO NOT GO, there is a sok supermarket 5 mins in a taxi from hotel where everything is dirt cheap I learned this late into the holiday after spending a fortune at hotel supermarket, also all staff are rude from reception to bar to cleaners other than that we had a good time.

Just a heads up if you book through love holidays you will be in B block! On arrival reception staff were rude, did not tell us where anything was considering it’s a big complex, all he did was show us a map and pointed to B block and say you’re here. We got taken down to B block and a man took us to our room and then stood in our room and would not leave, guessing he wanted a tip (wasn’t going to tip him as he was going to leave us at the door without a room key?). Once we had settled in the room we decided to ask if we could be moved to the main part of the hotel as B block is considerably far away from the main hotel including restaurants and pools (They offer a shuttle service to and from the hotel to b block however this is not very frequent, it’s either every hour or every 2 hours which is not ideal as you don’t want to be waiting around). When we asked at reception the same man (think his name was Baris) was again extremely rude to us and explained we couldnt be moved as the hotel were catering for Turkish people as there was a Turkish holiday for most the week! I asked him if he could explain where everything was and he was so ignorant and just pointed sarcastically like we were meant to already know! We ended up walking up to the hotel most mornings and evenings as the timings of the shuttles are very inconvenient regarding breakfast and dinner times? The walk up to the hotel is extremely steep and someone who is unfit or disabled would not manage it, my self and my partner are both fit however this walk to the hotel killed us every time we did it as the hills are so steep and the humid weather does not make it easy! (I read a review about the walk to and from B block and the hotel and I thought they were over exaggerating…they really weren’t). Entertainment staff were also rude to us. If you have kids entertainment is probably good however we only went to entertainment on two nights as it was dreadful. The main bar man at B block pool bar was absolutely lovely we made friends with him and he was always happy to serve us compared to the main hotel bar staff. Overall we made the most of the week together, would not come back here again as they don’t cater well for Brits and gave us the impression throughout our stay that as we were British we were an inconvenience to them being there!

Really disappointed. Too far from antalya airport, about 2h and 15 min by taxi. We arrived at 22:00 at airport and organised a taxi transfer rather than bus because the bus takes longer. Reached hotel just before 01:00 am. Hotel was dark, lights off, odd. I had to call receptionist for checking in. Given a small room with dirty bath room and spider webs. I was with a child and were starving. We have booked all inclusive and expected to have some food available or some snacks left in the room but there was nothing. I talked to receptionist he advised to use room service option. I explained they should have organised some thing for us since they knew we would arrive late. Finally, he organised 2x sandwiches and we were only allowed to eat it in our room. The sandwiches were not tasty at all. Further hotel is too far from everything, it's in on where - even from the beach too far. They have a beach shuttle but running every hour. Food and beverages were OK, although below expectation for similar 5*hotel in turkey. Entertainment: my child 9 yrs old enjoyed it but I did not and othe adults. Pools and aquapark were nice No irons in the room. They don't provide one and you have to send clothes to them to get it ironed for a fee. Sauna was not good enough. No towels on multiple occasions. It was not busy and most of people there mainly Russians. Although later a few from UK and Germany arrived. All together, disappointed and very unlikely I would like to go back to this hotel

We had such a great time at Gold City that we have promised ourselves to go back again. The staff, facilities and especially our room was top notch, honestly the brochure pictures do not do this hotel justice. The Spa, the veiws, the food and the overall feel is such that it will not be easily forgotten.

A lads week away! 5 star, sunny Turkey! Where to begin! The hotel was perfect including the beach bar there were 8 bars to choose from! (Irish bar and disco still not open) 5 different areas to eat! Entertainment was good piano bar and live singer by the pool. Football on projector at the far end of pool all in in the hotel was great. Little hilly but all need to get walking when on all inclusive.(shuttle is available up and down hotel) all the staff were brilliant! The 2 young Mustafas 1 at block B bar and 1 at the main bar made our holiday! Great service from them and their colleagues! Small confusion over room type on arrival but quickly resolved without fuss. Would recommend this hotel to all party types... friends, families, couples it works on all levels! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

We were at the Gold City Hotel from April 24 to May 1, 2024. It was our 8th stay on Turkey on 5*hotels. We rate Gold City very well. The hotel is located on a beautiful hill with an amazing view during the day and at night. The rooms were cery clean. The food was delicious. In our opinion, there was only not enough seafood, but maybe that was cause it was the beginning of the season. Alcohol was ok, you could easily choose something good. The distance to the beach is quite large but the bus runs every hour. The beach is nice, although we have seen better. There are small stones on it. If you're going to the beach at night, take a blanket, it will be more comfortable :) The hotel Staff was very nice. A great team of animators, especially Hayri and Alper. They organize a party trip to Alanya (Illusion). We recommend.

Pros... there are too many to mention but i will try. Stunning scenery. Lovely food lots of choice. Gorgeous rooms cleaned every day. Fantastic pools very clean and plenty of beds. A la carte was a lovely treat great food and service. Lots of drink choices tho a bit too strong but went down well. Not many staff speak great english but there again we were not in England we were in Turkey . Great shuttle service to the gorgeous beach which you get all inclusive food and drink. Staff helpful and friendly. Now the cons. A long transfer but we did know beforehand. The shuttle to b block should be more often and no food in b block pool area that was the only downside. Would definatly return.

This is our 1st time over this way in Turkey, usually we stay in side or lara beach. This is a 2 hour transfer, which was OK as it was a private transfer. Got here at 2100 on Sunday night for 10 nights, and we leave on Wednesday, the 24th. The room for 3 is really big with a balcony looking out at sea and the pool. This is a smaller hotel from what we are used to, and you can tell the difference. The food is good, to be fair. The snack bar is good also. Don't go by the website as there is no Irish bar or burger place. Staff at the pool bar and coffee desk are really friendly. All staff are to be fair. Also, on the website, it shows a football pitch and running track. I'm looking forward to this, but you have to get a ride there. I still haven't used it. Not to happy about that. The pool entertainment team is OK, not as good as previous hotels. Amphitheatre only opened up last night, so they had been using a conference room which isn't as good. Water park is OK. If you wanna be close to the town and beach I would suggest a different hotel. The hotel is up a mountain which is OK if you don't wanna go anywhere. They do offer shuttle buses to alanya and the beach at a cost. Still a decent hotel and good staff. Could be better but 10 days is plenty here.
