I stayed at this hotel at the beginning of November not realising that this was the last week the hotel would be open before closing for the winter and, unfortunately, this had an impact on our stay. It is in a lovely and quiet location with lots of bird-watching walks across the marshes. There are a few shops nearby but most were closed. However, we were able to get the bus into Huelva a couple of times which was well worth a visit. There is no beach nearby and the ferry to take you across to where there is a beach was no longer running. Our room was excellent with an enormous bed, comfortable furnishings and an over the bath shower. The hotel grounds were well looked after. The spa was excellent with a pool with lots of jets, jacuzzi, sauna, foot massage and everything was immaculately clean but I’m really not keen on unisex changing rooms! Breakfast was a bit disappointing with tinned fruit and eggs which were not cooked to order. A pile of pre-cooked omelettes next to a tray of cooling fried eggs did not look appetising. Lunch and dinner were better with a range of cooked food and, best of all, an amazing range of salads. The staff were all friendly and helpful but we did have the impression that things were winding down. It’s a lovely hotel with lots to recommend it. We just chose the wrong time of year.
