The hotel has leaks in various places mainly over the bar. Bedroom was uncomfortably cold.

Very pleasant. The bar was well stocked. The staff were all very amicable. The only downside was that there w was no wifi in our room.

This hotel needs a complete facelift, the decor is very shabby, needs to be redecorated throughout. lots of noise from the plumbing/heating systems.

This is the second occasion we have stayed at The Sun, we love it! It is aging and a little rough around the edges, but it’s character runs deep, it’s a**osphere is just lovely and homely. If you like your hotels with character and charm, this is the place for you, if you are after standard, or uniform, or sterile, this is not your place. Really convenient and delicious breakfast, will be staying again for sure!

We really enjoyed our stay here and the staff were so friendly! I would definitely come back and recommend to friends. The rooms and hallways could do with being painted and I would have liked for the bedroom doors to have something in addition to the latch lock, perhaps a door chain.

It was a comfortable place. On arrival it took a while to check in due staff busy serving pub customers. Our room (6) was right at top and it takes a bit to negotiate the stairs with luggage and poor knees!! But as the one and only staff pointed out that the view is excellent. Couldn’t fault the breakfast or the service. Hotel is not too keen you eating your own food outside in the garden!! Be warned!! Shower good but the toilet filling tank was faulty and I was woken up by the noise of continuous water flaw, I did find temporary solution and hotel said they know about it and are dealing with it. It is steep walk up from the little shopping ares so be aware!!
