Sonder the Plymouth

The units look nothing like how they are advertised in their photos. We have 5 families staying here for a wedding. The units are dirty, doors are missing from the kitchen cabinets. The sofas are filthy. The shower stalls are moldy. You can’t open the bathroom door w/o moving bed

It's our first time in Chicago, and my family and I went there for the marathon. We stayed for 6 days. My sonder was clean and spacious. They gave us change of towels and restock of toiletries. Location is also excellent. It is near downtown Chicago and close to 2 train stations.

Location is very convenient to multiple train lines, the furnishings were very comfortable and it was priced very reasonably. Overall we had an excellent stay. There are a few small cons that people should be aware of. First, the luggage storage room is supposed to have individual lockers that you can take a key for, but there were no keys even for the open lockers, which was disappointing as we hoped to store our belongings upon an early arrival and after check out. Second, the above ground trains can be heard in the apartments, particularly at night, which was not great for the lighter sleepers.

It was a perfect space for ours girls trip to Chicago to celebrate over 40 years of friendship. The building is beautiful and our unit had tall ceilings and beautiful windows. We found it to be very clean but it doesn’t look clean right away because of scuff marks on the walls and baseboards. And the lobby area and elevator could use a good cleaning. But once in the unit, it was great. All beds were very comfortable with clean, white, comfortable duvets and pillows. It has a well stocked kitchen so we could make coffee and breakfast. Check in was very simple - the instructions are detailed and accurate. It was very easy to get extra supplies using the app and a bag of requested items appeared at our door. Easy walk to Grant Park and the Art Institute. We recommend walking through the beautiful library across the street - it is open to the public and free and a beautiful, interesting space.

Comfortable beds, large living area, clean upon arrival, safe entry, great location, and great communication. I definitely plan to use Sonder again in Chicago and when staying in other cities as well. I have no complaints. Don’t forget to check out the rooftop view!
