I love Cairns! This hotel is very conveniently located! Australia's ecological protection is really good! The hotel is very close to the pier and the night market, and the most important thing is that the bath water is very big!

I would recommend this hotel to everyone. Although the room design is old style(not renovated one), the room is clean and the sea view is amazing. Great location especially to the meet up point of skydive and diving. Just 5 mins walk. Casino is just nearby so you don’t need to worry the night activities. Staff are friendly and helpful. I enjoy the stay a lot.

The room was very clean. There was a ********* lady at the front desk who could speak Chinese. The hotel has a special menu every day. When we arrived, it was steak night and the steak was quite big.
There was room cleaning service. The environment was very quiet.
It was very close to the pier and it was very convenient to eat around.

I checked in and stored my luggage because it was late.
I was nervous that I would get a bug, but I didn't even see a bug nose for 3 nights and 4 days.
It's so comfortable with a dishwasher and microwave
It is convenient to have space to share the remaining ingredients and things.
The female boss at the reception was very friendly and helped us recommend the destination.

The location is superb, super close to the port and various places. Opposite is the Woolworths supermarket, but after all, the apartment has time and the facilities are more general. Win in the room type is big enough ～

There is no breakfast, the room is large and clean, can accommodate 4 people, one large bed and two small beds, the bed is very comfortable, the room can also cook, and the kitchenware is full. The location is excellent, it is very convenient to be close to the supermarket and the seaside. The old lady is very nice and welcoming. Next time you stay in Cairns. Oh, forget to say, the cat is so cute!

#房间小# #卫生差# #位置偏# The hotel was off work at 7:00 in the evening and there was no staff at the entire hotel. It was already seven o'clock when I arrived at the hotel on the first day. I have been unable to contact people. The call from Ctrip is the front desk in front of us. No one is there. Later I tried various methods to get in touch. The front desk gave a good attitude to the aunt, and helped us book the rental to the airport at 7:00 the next morning. The room is small and it doesn't feel very comfortable. A total of three rooms were set up, two of which had no quilt and only a quilt, which was very cold at night. The location is very biased, and it is not very big in Cairns, but it takes a long time to find a slightly fascinating meal and supermarket. Breakfast is average, open at 7:00, only jam bread and drinks and cereals.

Rooms were fine. Security could be better as anyone can drive or walk on to the property anytime.
They charge you $3 for a small bottle of water which they should give it to you for free, nothing wrong with the tap water. Restaurant out front was good also. Free wifi, works well.

MMin Ts***The apartment is rather new. Location is the biggest its advantage. Vert close to bus station and restaurants. The whole block of 1/2 bedroom apartments are next to the “hotel”. The check in and out processes were fast without hassle.
During my stay, I found some daily problems that I had to sort out. As the staff at the reception said the apartment is managed by the hotel, however, it is not serviced exactly as the hotel rooms. I prefer to have some information sheet telling some basics solutions.
It was not cleaned up every day. We had the cleaning services for the 4th, 8th morning. I have to ask for refilling such as clean towels, toilet papers, rubbish bin bags, dishwashing tabs, I also need to empty the rubbish or food garbage.
Most disappointing, someone having their food in room and drop them nearby my door daily. As the temperature is hot there and stinky smell was suck.

YYytravelsThe room was clean and quiet. It also had a nice view where you could see the sea and the rainforest.Service was good , and it was easy to call a taxi ,you just need to press a taxi bottom in the lobby and taxi would come to the hotel within 5 to 15 minutes .This was really cool!

PPHILLIP JAMESThe Mantra Hotel has outstanding location. It is directly in front of the Woolworths supermarket - the best option in central Cairns. It's also virtually opposite (the esplanade side)the lagoon public beachfront swimming pool. Finally it's just a 5 minute walk from Cairns Cruise Terminal, with outstanding day trips to Green Island, Fitzroy Island and the Reef. I booked a sea view room. When you enter the room, you don't see the ocean, but a building across the road. However, the view from the balcony was amazing. The balcony overlooks the main features of lagoon on the sea front. During the day it is great view - the lagoon pools and sea in the background. At night you cannot see the sea (as to be expected) but you have the amazing lagoon lights, which makes it very desirable and even romantic. Our room was at the end of block, which overlooks a shopping mall (no car noise) - looking right from the balcony is the lagoon view and looking left is a mountain view. However, from 2:00pm to 6:00pm the sun comes directly into the balcony area, which means it unusable until sun sets. Of course if you don't mind baking in the sun on the balcony, this is not really a concern. The room itself is pretty basic. The mini fridge of OK and TV has domestic channels only - no cable TV for BBC/CNN. The bathroom is of a good size. There is combined shower & bath. However, when using the shower, it can slightly flood this bathroom. A shower curtain may be desirable because the glass panel is not sufficient enough. At $225 per night this hotel was not cheap and you can better deals by coming in the off-season OR going bit further down the esplanade, and choosing another hotel. The Mantra does have its own pool and it is wonderfully heated, with normal deck chairs you would expect at 4 star hotel. However, the pool gets very little natural sunlight, because it of its location between 2 buildings. Overall, the hotel has amazing location, and it is still recommended, despite the shortcomings mentioned. My final note: When we checked in, I was impressed with the level of service provided by the receptionist. She had a very welcome attitude and a wonderful personality.

GGuest UserI arrived at the end of November, the beginning of the rainy season, and arrived at 4am in the pouring rain, and arrived at the hotel at around 6am. I was wondering what to do when the hotel was closed, but someone staying there opened it for me.
The hotel was clean and very relaxing.
They allowed me to check in early and were very accommodating, but there were almost no amenities, just a bar of soap, shampoo, and one small bottle of conditioner.
No towel changes or additional amenities for the first 7 days...
I thought it was humid in the summer, but I thought it can't be helped because towel changes are rarely done in Australia (due to water shortages and to protect resources).
I thought the location was about 10 minutes from the main area, but it was quite far with a stroller.
Considering the hotel staff's attitude and cleanliness, I think it was pretty good.

GGuest UserThe manager of the property is friendly and welcoming. The apartment is spacious.
However, I have to say the apartment is bit of disappointing. I understand the weather during the time is humid and wet due to raining. But there is cockroaches in the bedroom and ants on the bed. So maybe need to do some pest control before opening to guest? Also the room is not bright and is bit dark all the time. Moreover the bed sheets is bit of dirty as well. Toilet is clean which not an issue, but it is bit old and wardrobe is old as some places is broken need to upgrade or fix. Usually because we have kids, even it is not 5 star hotel or anything but at least I think clean and tidy is the very important thing for the accommodation.
It is also bit of misleading on the advertisement because overall I do not think it should count as 4 star apartment OR it needs to put the correct photos for which room is related to.
Also, this is not the walking distance to the city central and you need to have a car for more convenience otherwise you need to take taxi or other transport; so please be aware of.

GGuest UserWe chose this hotel because it was one of the most inexpensive hotels near the reef terminal and close to other attractions in Cairns. It was a 30 minute walk to the Reef Terminal and 40 minutes to the Botanical Garden. It also has a good selection of restaurants nearby and is a short walk to Rusty's Market and quite a few shops.
The area is very quiet and the bed was comfy enough. The room has a good wall unit which we stored all of our bags in and kept our stuff accessible with some shelves. There is a limited number of plug-ins in the room with two on the desk under the TV and a power bar was underneath the bed. A travel power adapter was used to keep our devices charged. The wifi was weak when we stayed and we felt the shower curtain and lip didn't do a great job keeping the water contained because the floor and bath mat got soaked each time we showered - you could aim the shower head at the wall and angle your body just so but it was tricky to have a good shower here. We did appreciate all the toiletries available in the wall mounted units including hand wash, shaving cream, body lotion, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. The towels were also very soft but never dried out so we had to ask to have them changed on our second day here because the bathroom smelled very damp due to the wetness.
The front desk staff were very kind but they did not have it manned after hours so there are late night check in instructions provided. They also can help arrange and book tours while you are in Cairns. The hotel offered a complimentary breakfast which included bread, a toaster, a pancake machine, cereals, juices, coffee, milk and water. The highlight of the breakfast was the pancake machine and the giant jar of Nutella with a pump attached. You could order a hot breakfast for a little bit more and it was fairly priced for things like sausage, bacon and eggs.
The hotel also has a bar area (open 3-7), heat and eat meals, a vending machine, pool and laundry facilities. There is a microwave available in the bar area and kettles are available in the rooms for hot water. The laundry machines are commercial and quick - it cost 4 AUD to wash and the same price to dry and our laundry was done within 1 hour and 10 minutes. The laundry room also has an iron and ironing board.
The hotel had a good amount of parking and it is about a 10 minute drive from the airport. We felt everything was very convenient during our stay and would recommend it if you are planning to save on a hotel and spend on excursions!

GGuest UserOmg staying at this hostel was equally parts traumatic and entertaining. The best way to describe it is imagine if a problematic 60 year old man opened a hostel with a nightclub underneath, and all the social activities were designed with other problematic 60 year old men in mind. They don't seem to do any sort of gender balancing in the mixed dorm, one girl checked into my room in the middle of the night, because she was put in a mixed dorms with only men over 50. The social activities are old fashioned but not in a good way, I'm talking wet t shirt contests, pole dancing competitions, jelly wrestling. But honestly this hostel gave most of the girls staying here the ick so we ended up having movie nights on the girls floor, going to the market and Esplanade together and to the free gym. I actually had a good time, ironically. The facilities at this hostel are really good to be fair, the dorms were clean, they all had air conditioning and balconies (unfortunately you are not able to control the temperature of the air conditioning or turn it off when it is cold outside), they had large well equipped kitchens, a pool and a free gym. Even the nightclub was a good venue, but the social activities are like something out of the Wolf Of Wall Street. If they are going to be a sleazy venue they could at least hire Magic Mike dancers. But honestly they just need to get a new entertainment manager and this place would be fine. Location is alright, about a twenty minute walk to the Esplanade.

GGuest UserThis was my second time staying at this hotel. The first was a much better experience. It seems it all depends on the room. This time we got room 101, on the corner of the building and next to the entrance gate and more importantly, next to a street intersection. It was quite noisy all night as trucks and busses accelerate from the intersection. I asked the desk clerk when we checked in if we could have a different room and he refused, even though other rooms were available. I couldn't quite figure out his reasoning. Anyway, this room also sufferers from a very weak air conditioner and is a little smaller than the last room we got (room 119). Basically, the hotel is fine, but your experience may differ based on the specific room.
