We had a great stay at Residence Inn Portland. The studio room with two queen beds was spacious and comfortable for 4 adults and everything was clean and well maintained. The hotel's location is excellent, very close to downtown, making it easy to get around..A pleasant and convenient stay.
We needed a hotel for one night that was close to the airport. This fit our needs. It definitely needs updating and is not worth $150+ a night but…it’s clean and the beds are comfortable.

TTamuWe just came back from our 4 nights stay. The Inn looked clean and offered a good breakfast, although in a different building. That is pretty much it.
Our stay was not the most pleasant though. We booked a room for 3 people (we were traveling with our teenage kid) and at the time of booking I specified that I needed a room large enough for three people and an additional bed for our son. I called the Inn twice in the week prior to our arrival to make sure we had the room we needed and to let them know that we were arriving late in the evening. We arrived on Thursday night at 9 pm to find out that the room we were given was incredibly small and there was no place for an additional bed. The receptionist, a foreign student, called the manager who told her to add a cot to the already small room. We asked for another room and we were offered a room on the third story that was identical to the one we were given but with an awful smell and we declined it. The receptionist told us to either take the room we were assigned or leave. Little caveat, we had already prepaid a non refundable rate and at this time of the year there are no rooms available on Old Orchard Beach without a reservation. The receptionist did not seem to understand the conundrum of the prepaid non refundable stay and did not want to call the manager a second time to try to help us out. We did not want to lose the money we had already disbursed for our vacation so we had no choice but to take the room we were given, move the furniture around to fit a cot bed between our bed and a bureau (which then we could not use because his bed was right against the drawers). Every night we had to move all the luggage against the door to have enough space for the three of us to get to the tiniest bathroom you can think of (a closet repurposed as a bathroom). I do not understand why they accepted the reservation and ended up messing up with our vacation. They could have rejected the reservation saying that they did not have a room for us and I would have booked a room somewhere else. This small room could have worked for a couple but did not work for a family. The room service is offered every other day which meant leaving wet towels from 3 people's showers on the bathroom for an entire day. On one day, I asked for a garbage bag and put the wet towels outside the floor for someone to pick up. Same for the garbage. They sat there in the hallway until the next day. How do they expect people to shower every day, without a change of towels, especially after spending a day at the beach? There are a lot of things that could have been done better. We have been at OOB several times and other motels offer a much better service. I think there is a lot of potential but they need better management.
Will not stay there again.
TTraveling TanThis hotel is conveniently close to the town, it’s a little outdated, the room was musty when we came into it. The coffee machine didn’t work and the door got stuck when going into and out of the room.
TTamuI was able to get an early check-in which I always appreciate. I had previously asked about a specific room which was not available but got one in the same position on a higher floor. The view was great looking over Portland, Me. It was explained there was work being done in a nearby elevator, and I might hear it. I didn't but I did, however, hear loud doors. I mean slamming. When the hotel is busier, that must be a big problem. I always enjoy having a small refrigerator, so that was good. One other thing I noticed, even when the room is comfortably warm, it doesn't circulate to the bathroom, which is by the door. There is no heating vent in the bathroom, and it was cold! Especially getting out of the shower! But love the Westin and look forward to my next visit. Free continental breakfast maybe?

The service was exceptional. From the moment I checked in, the staff greeted me with warm smiles and made me feel right at home. They were incredibly helpful throughout my stay,

The motel's facilities were top-notch and exceeded my expectations. The room was clean, well-maintained, and equipped with all the amenities I needed. The bed was comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep after a long day of exploration. The room also featured a mini-fridge, which came in handy for drinks. Additionally, the motel grounds were well-kept and provided a relaxing environment to unwind.
Breakfast:
The complimentary breakfast was simply fantastic.
TTamuVery clean, accommodating staff. If I could suggest anything, it would be that they would explain when asked about being pet friendly that they don’t allow pets to stay in the room while you’re not there and charge a $250 fine if you leave the room. We were confused because in other hotels that we stayed, we were allowed to leave the dogs. This makes it rather difficult when you arrive at the location and you’re an hour and a half away from your house that you have to now find a dog sitter or a dog daycare while you go out of your hotel room to me it defeats the purpose because I know I would’ve left them with the dog sitter at home either that or they clarify their stance on such issues like “do you have a dog here well as long as he stays quiet, it’s OK“ something to that effect.
