Ecolodge Bukit Lawang - Hotel&Jungletrek
4.2/540 Reviews
This location is perfect! Stunning and looks onto the river. The rooms are spacious and very comfy, with mosquito nets to over the whole bed. Service at reception was excellent and we were able to keep our luggage there over night for storage while we did an overnight jungle trek. (Highly recommended) I used Izoen, the guide, to help me organize everything needed for an enjoyable hike. Hafiz was also amazing and such a wonderful person to help when I didn’t feel well and took me to the pharmacy nearby. Very convenient, warm people and safe👌 There was just one thing I would have really liked. In the room there is no kettle and coffee/tea cups to make your own coffee and tea in the room. I think this could be a nice addition - since there are such beautiful balconies and porches to sit outside. Also there was no shower gel or hand soap in shower area. But there was a hand soap by the sink.

I booked a one-night stay in a room for one person. The room had an air-con but the hotel refused to give me the remote control device to turn it on. I did not know I had to book a different room to get the air-con working. I asked them repeatedly to upgrade and pay the difference in cash but they insisted not to allow an upgrade even though I had no upgrade option available in the Trip App. They wanted me to forgo the booking I did and book a room with an air-con at full price. I refused to waste the booking I did and they insisted not to take money and upgrade my room, so I ended up staying in an extremely hot room that night, which was unusually hot compared to the temperature outside. The room was very basic despite being big. No shampoo was available in the bathroom.

This is a good inn. I stayed in a single room, a bus, a room with a toilet 80000. The inn was large and the inn was in contact with the lake, so it was good to swim every day. The downside is that there are many insects. The shower is shared and only water comes out. Nothing, it was really cold, it was noisy at night, and when I was sleeping, I fell on the roof of the totan, fruits, wood fruits, and there was a great roar. but i recommend it.
Tuk Tuk Timbul Bungalows
4.4/539 Reviews
Tuk Tuk Timbul is an ideal great value for money bungalow style hôtel with a mix of modern constructed and as well as traditional batak constructed bungalows, which are all ensuite and with views directly on the lake shore for beautiful panoramas. The staff are very amicable and easy to laugh with. The restaurant area is also on the lake shore with a comprehensive list of Indonesian and local stylised western food. Everything we tried was tasty with generous portions.

Good location. 5 minutes by car or 15 minutes by foot from the station. Directly opposite the famous TIP TOP. Open until around 10pm, so you can visit even late. The rooms have a separate sink and toilet, making them comfortable to use. There is only one elevator for the number of rooms, so it's best to allow plenty of time for check-out. Breakfast included everything from main dishes to fruit.

Although the room was not very soundproof, everything else was fine. Breakfast is served daily, and bath towels are changed every day. Two bottles of water. There is a table tennis table on the first floor that can play table tennis. Bicycles can be used for free.

The main problem is the lack of workspace in the room. There is a normal table only in the room where there is no window, but it smells terrible there due to the fact that there is no sunlight coming in (dampness and high humidity do their job). Therefore, under no circumstances stay in a room without a window. Otherwise the hotel is decent. The staff is very responsive, they rush to help in any situation. Wi-Fi is normal. Excellent restaurant on the ground floor at normal prices. This hotel is worth the money.

Front desk n security guard are helpful. Normal room cleanliness condition, small room enough for 2 persons, a bit congested bathroom & toilet space. Cleaning trolley park beside room door for 2 days, eyesore everytime in and out from hotel room, this can be improved with management involvement.

Five-star environment, facing the Lake Toba, the scenery is beautiful. Breakfast is also very rich, the waiter is very nice. The only flaw is the room facilities. In addition, the hotel borrowed my mobile phone plug and forgot it. I gave the driver Tyo, and he will return the next time he sends the customer. Sorry, I forgot to return the phone adapter, I gave to my driver Tyo who would give it back next time when he has the customer in your hotel.

It was a pleasant experience. I got what I really needed. I only stayed for 1 night and I spent the night at Room 306. The room is clean and neat. It’s not as spacious as I thought it would be, but for a solo traveler it’s just the right space. At the lobby, it’s like a combination of cafe and library. Yes, they provide books to read. I would love to stay here again in the future.
