When I first came here, I was immediately attracted by its simple charm, and I realized this is the famous Chinatown. Why is it called Niu Che Shui? It is said that in the past, due to the lack of tap water, people had to transport water by ox carts, hence the name 🌟 Highlights: As soon as you step onto this street, you'll feel the strong Chinese vibe. Street vendors sell a variety of cheongsams, Tang suits, ceramics, and the colorful arcade buildings leave a lasting impression. I even found a huge Werewolf Kill store at the corner, which instantly gave me a sense of old Shanghai's atmosphere. The most interesting part is that Chinese elements can be seen everywhere. People wear T-shirts with tiger and dragon patterns, and the public toilets are decorated with Peking opera facial makeup. The murals on the street provide a perfect backdrop for taking photos (unfortunately, my photographer was not up to par). Seeing such scenes of Chinese culture spreading abroad makes me feel extremely proud. I am grateful to the Chinese community for promoting and passing on Chinese culture and heritage around the world. 💰 Average Spending: If you come to Chinatown, be sure to visit the Chinatown Heritage Centre to learn about its history. One of the recommended places I've visited in Singapore with my family last year was Chinatown. We spent most of our time shopping for affordable souvenirs and trying out delicious food as there are so many shops to choose from. One of the restaurants we went to has colourful hanging decorations. It was amazing to look at! While strolling in the streets of Chinatown, we stumble into a beautiful infrastructure with exceptional exterior design. It was massive! It is called the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Museum, enriched with Buddhist art and history. It takes less than 10 minutes walk from the Chinatown MRT station. Entry in the temple grounds is free, but ensure that you wear appropriate clothing. Book in advance to avoid making the journey for nothing.
