Visit the Tian Tan Buddha at Lantau Island in Hong Kong. The Tian Tan Buddha on Lantau Island is a place I must visit at least once a year! Every time I return, I feel refreshed and invigorated~ and I find it quite efficacious! Superb superb superb Attractions worth visiting on Lantau Island: 1 Tian Tan Buddha The Tian Tan Buddha is located at the peak of Ngong Ping and is one of the most famous landmarks on the outlying islands. Its base is modeled after the Temple of Heaven in Beijing, hence the name "Tian Tan Buddha." It is currently the world's second-largest outdoor bronze seated Buddha statue. Every time I come here, I make sure to climb to the top of the Buddha and look up at its majesty. Absorbing the Buddha's spiritual energy at the peak, honestly, I always feel refreshed! 2 Wisdom Path The Wisdom Path is less than 900 meters away from the Tian Tan Buddha, and it takes less than 10 minutes to walk there.★ On the way to the Wisdom Path, there are very few people, some vacant small houses, and the greenery is thriving, making it quite suitable for taking some forest-themed photos. Vegetarian Restaurant Sorry, but I have to have a big meal at this vegetarian restaurant every time I visit. This place is not the ascetic kind you might imagine. On the contrary, the desserts, fried rice noodles, mountain water tofu pudding, braised dishes, spring rolls... are all super delicious! And the prices are incredibly affordable. A meal for two with a lot of dishes costs just over a hundred Hong Kong dollars! However, remember to bring cash! ⑦ (4) Near the cable car, there is a Ngong Ping Market. There are some local tea gardens, dining halls, and souvenir shops. If you want to buy souvenirs, you can take a look around~ If you arrive early, you can also take a bus directly from Ngong Ping to Tai O~ The bus takes about twenty minutes to get there, and you can experience Hong Kong's Venice! (Check the main page for a guide to Tai O fishing village) About Transportation! By MTR: From Tung Chung MTR Station, take Exit B and walk for 2 minutes to reach the Tung Chung Cable Car Terminal. By Bus: For the bus station, you have to walk past the cable car area and go forward to see a bus station, (see the last transportation map) there are signs indicating the destinations. Just look for and queue up. You can use the Octopus card, and it takes about half an hour to reach the entrance of Lantau Island. 0 Due to the popularity of the Ngong Ping 360 cable car, it is recommended that visitors purchase tickets online in advance to avoid queuing and delays at the site. For online ticketing, click on the official Ngong Ping 360 cable car website. Tips: When coming here, be sure to bring some Hong Kong dollars! To offer incense to the Buddha, you need cash, which you can buy at the store at the entrance of Po Lin Monastery. The prices are very reasonable; we bought three sets of incense for 18 dollars~

Been to Hong Kong Kowloon before and visited the usual tourist attractions like The Peak, Victoria Harbour, Tsim Sha Tsui, did my shopping at Mongkok and Ladies' Market, ate my authentic dim sum at Sham Shui Po --- totally loved the hustle and bustling when I was single... This time we decided to stay on Lantau Island, because we wanted something more relaxing, closer to nature. Glad that we did, and we were able to cover all these in our 3-day trip: 1. Airport The airport was just a 15-minute ride to our hotel. Loved the short ride and almost totally empty roads. 2. Transport Taxi concierge was EXCELLENT...Always managed to get our taxi to us in under 10 minutes. 3. Mountains - Ngong Ping The Ngong Ping 360 cable car station was also about 15 minutes ride away. It was cool to take the cable car ride that crosses several mountains and the sea. Saw many hikers too, would try the hike when we were more prepared next time! The Ngong Ping Village, Big Buddha and Po Lin Monastry wewre on these mountains. 5. Fishing Village - Tai O Just a small fishing village - but loved that we got to walk around to enjoy the relaxing vibes, pet some freely roaming cats and enjoy the delicious local street food. Boat ride around the stilted houses of the village and out to catch the dolphins frolicking in the water was quite a treat too. The seafood was cheap and exceptionally fresh. They sell lots of dried seafood too as food souvenirs. 6. Disneyland 7. Shopping - Citygate and... 11 Skies??? Citygate mall has lots of outlet stores, and plenty of food options. But what we were even more excited about was the 11 Skies mall - touted to be the largest - with about 800 stores and 1200 dining options - feels like it's gonna be three times larger than Citygate (which was, already a very large mall). It seemed cool that they've features like Kidzania, Arte Museum (like the Art Science Museum of Singapore's Marina Bay Sands), Timeless Flight Ride (kinda like Soaring in Tokyo Disneyland / i-Ride in Taipei). Found out that this mall is being developed by the same developer of K11 Musea... which is the newest cool mall in Tsim Sha Tsui along Victoria Harbour. So if we were to visit Hong Kong again, would love to stay at Lantau again, but definitely after the 11 Skies Mall is fully open, perhaps after 2025!
