Understated Old Street in Wenchang, Hainan

This is Wennan Old Street in Wenchang, Hainan. The street was purportedly built in the 1920s with money from the Hainanese that moved overseas, in particular Singapore and Malaysia. Hence, the architecture style of the buildings are a mixture of western and Chinese style, with the feel of shophouses seen in Singapore and Malaysia. The street is 400m long and I feel is more authentic and less commercial than the more famous qilou old street in Haikou. Worth a visit! #familytrips2024
