Worship the Sukhothai-era Buddha statue at Wat Khum

🏡 Wat Hua Khwang Kaew, originally known as Wat Khum, is located on land that was once the residence of the ruler of Phayao, referred to as "Khum" in Lanna culture. Later, the land was donated for the construction of the temple. Key attractions within the temple include: 🏠 The Ubosot: Featuring a blend of Lanna architectural and artistic styles, it houses a Buddha statue in the Mara Vichaya posture. 🙏 Inside the temple, you will find Phra Phuttha Mongkhon, an ancient Buddha statue over 700 years old in the Mara Vichaya posture. This Sukhothai-era statue is believed to have been created in the 21st Buddhist century. In the past, it was enshrined at the ruler's residence and was known as Phra Sukhothai. 🛕 The Chedi: Located behind the Ubosot, it is golden in color with an octagonal base supported by lion figures.
