Brooklyn Bridge is the longest suspension bridge in the world and the first bridge in the world to be built with steel. It spans the East River in New York, USA, connecting Brooklyn and Manhattan. It was officially opened on May 24, 1883. The bridge is 1,834 meters long, and the bridge deck is suspended 41 meters above the water by tens of thousands of steel cables. At the time of its completion, it was considered the eighth wonder of the world after the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and was hailed as one of the seven epoch-making architectural wonders of the Industrial Revolution.
