Primary Forest of Xishuangbanna: True Adventure for True Explorers

The Xishuangbanna Forest is called the "peacock country". Their stunning coloring and elegance attracts many tourists. For the local "dai" people, peacocks have become mascots. Among the dense bamboo forest, people build their houses like a peacock's unfolded tail. Xishuangban is the genetic bank of many endangered plants. The Xishuangbanna Nature Reserve Rainforest is located in 3 counties of Jinghong, Mengla, Menghai in southern Yunnan Province, it is the most untouched rainforest in high latitudes and mountainous areas of our country. Xishuangbanna Primeval Forest Park offers unique natural landscapes of the primeval forest and charming ethnic customs. The park contains the best preserved rainforest valleys south of the tropic of cancer, a peacock breeding base, a monkey domestication base, a large field for representing ethnic customs, Aini village with an ethnic palisade, Jiulong Waterfall, Manshuanglong pagoda, hundreds of meters of granite relief, the legend of golden lake, barbecue area with ethnic flavor and so on. More than 50 scenic attractions highlighting the three main thematic characteristics of “virgin forests, wildlife and folk customs". Chinese National Geographic magazine named it one of the ten most beautiful forests in China. The northern tropical region of Xishuangbanna is located on the edge of the northern part south of the tropic of cancer, belongs to the tropical monsoon climate, warm and sunny, humid and rainy all year round, it is the only oasis desert on the tropic of cancer on earth, it is the most complete, typical and largest ecosystem of tropical rain forests in China, as well as a scarce gene pool of rare plants and animals on earth, which today is known as a miracle of nature on earth. Five thousand species of tropical plants and animals in Xishuangbanna grow on an area of almost two square kilometers, which is breathtaking.
