Savoring Hairtail Fish Delights at Jeju Maeum

#summervacay We visited Jeju Maeum, a restaurant specializing in grilled and braised Hairtail fish, within walking distance of Jeju Hyatt Hotel. Despite having a small eatery suited for four people, they allowed us to order their 2-person set menu, which consisted of grilled and braised Hairtail fish, abalone, soy sauce-marinated crab, and rice. Since it was a 2 person menu, they cut the fish into pieces. Complimentary side dishes, common in Korean restaurants, were also served. Most of us didn't dare to try the raw marinated crab; I tried a bit but wasn't used to it. The abalone was fresh without any fishy smell. The grilled Hairtail was fresh but not as crispy as the one we tried at Handam restaurant near Aewol beach. The braised Hairtail fish was tender with spicy sauce added to the rice – very delicious.
