The former location of the Guangzhou Railway Museum is the old Guangzhou South Station, formerly known as Huangsha Station. In 1946, it was renamed Guangzhou South Station and mainly engaged in train formation and freight transportation. In 1970, it became a pure freight station💫 In 1990, the total area of ​​the station was 184,000 square meters, the station line increased to 42 shares, not only the largest water and land transfer hub in South China, the built-in two-section green leather carriage during the Spring Festival was also a temporary sales point, until the closing still have 4 million tons/year of cargo💫 However, with the development of the city, the station has penetrated deep into the city center, connecting the station with both branches and interfering with urban traffic, coupled with the increase in the number of railway freight hubs, on June 10, 2005 the Ministry of Railways approved the closure of the station, on July 9 officially ceased operations.
