"Booked for 3 nights on strength of 4 out of 5 review. Within 2 hours of checking in asked to change rooms as we were put in a room that backed on to the lift shaft with no soundproofing and it was noisy with lots of clanging and banging. The staff were great and accommodated our request without hesitation. The next room we were given we had an issue with very loud music coming from neighbouring room. We informed the reception who promptly dealt with this. The rooms are very dated with lots of wear and tear. The mattress was uncomfortable and bigger than the base it sat on and had a stained valance. And the pillows were inadequate. There were no bin liners and the shower had mould and the shower control came off in my hand. The lobby and dining area are very good but the rooms are not. Didn’t eat there so can’t say what the food is like. We only stayed for one night out of the three and checked in to another hotel. This hotel needs investment, the rooms need to be refitted and the hotel needs soundproofing."

Staff, room and breakfast was lovely, our only critique was there was a wedding reception downstairs which was unfortunately VERY loud and didn’t finish until midnight. The staff were kind and apologetic, however unfortunately meant no sleep until the party was over."

The room is clean with complimentary tea bags and cookies provided, which made the stay feel more welcoming and comfortable. However, guests should be aware of the hotel's strict operating hours and check-in/check-out policies. The reception is only open from 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM, although the property can still be accessed with a key outside these hours. Check-out is at 10:00 AM, and the hotel does not offer luggage storage after check-out, which may be inconvenient for travelers with later flights or plans in the city."

"We spent two nights at the Premier Inn central York all for a total of £114 pound for a Sunday and Monday nights.The hotel is about 0.4 of a mile from York centre and had parking, but we read on Tripadviser that you might struggle for a space so we decided to park via Justpark about 0.5 mile away in a lovely church which was very secure all for £10 a night instead of £16 at Premier Inn.If Iam to be honest I had hoped the carpark was when we arrived full but at 11am we did see a few spaces.We did not have food or drink at the hotel but many did as it is a very busy hotel.Would have to say the hotel is one of the best premier Inns we have stayed in lovely room and the hotel had a good feel about it."
