Holiday Inn YORK by IHG

This was the second time we stayed here. Lovely location. Not too far from York City Centre but far enough for serene environment. Taking a Uber to the Shambles costs about £6-7. Clean rooms.

The staff is nice. The room is clean. The air conditioning is good.

Found walnuts under the mattress near the edge, glad I don’t have a nut allergy or a family staying in that room with a toddler who has allergies. Could’ve ended up pretty serious if a small child had eaten a nut.

The service was fantastic. Clean, comfortable spacious. A special shout out to Ruby one of the afternoon, evening wait staff. Great memory, great sense of humour. Thanks Ruby. We'd highly recommend. Good location.

The hotel was clean and the staff were very friendly and easy to communicate. The check-in and check-out processes were very fast and efficient. Definitely would recommend for travellers especially those who want to stay outside of the main city areas to the peacefulness of the area.

The hotel was in an excellent location to visit York. The breakfast was varied, good quality and the food was always replenished. The restaurant also had a good choice of meals. We booked a premium king size room for 2 nights. The bedroom was a good size but was let down by a tiny bathroom, which only had an over the bath shower. The toilet seat was lose and the walls had marks on them. We reported this to reception and the toilet was fixed immediately . We chose a premium room with the expectation that the bathroom would also be premium and have a walk in shower. The room did benefit from a mini fridge with a few complimentary items which was a nice touch.

The hotel is ideally located for the York parkrun that we did. It’s also walking distance to the city centre. There didn’t see enough staff at breakfast as there were no mugs for coffee and we asked for them several times but took about 10 minutes to arrive

The hotel was a great location, close to the centre. The room was big, with comfortable bed and clean. The breakfast was good with a good selection of food options.
