Lantana Guest House

We stayed 5 nights in this lovely B&B. On arrival our hosts offered to upgraded us from a beautiful but slightly smaller room at no extra charge, which we happily accepted. The room we had was really outstanding, with windows overlooking the beach and town, 2 comfortable chairs and a couch to sit on to admire the view, lots of storage and a very comfortable bed. Coffee and tea makings and a small fridge were also very welcome. The location was excellent, central and walkable to restaurants, the harbour, local tourist sites, and of course the beach. Our hosts Sandra and John were terrific, from helping with bags and preparing a lovely breakfast each morning, recommending favourite area restaurants and going out of their way to make things easier for us on our three week trip. (We didn’t get to use the terrace because of rain but saw it in sunny glory on our check out day - what a great space to enjoy the harbour view from at breakfast.)

The perfect hosts and a very beautiful guest house. Great attention to detail and the decor; ambience and location cannot be faulted. The rooms are superb; breakfast was delicious and nothing was too much trouble. Location is perfect for the beautiful harbour and beach, with a great selection of bars; cafes and restaurants on the doorstep. Highly recommend.

The Lantana is a hidden gem! We enjoyed a fabulous stay this weekend and hosts John and Sandra were on hand to meet and greet us and to take our bags to our absolutely beautiful and well equipped room. They have thought of everything and their hospitality was second to none. Freshly cooked plated breakfast was perfect to set us up for busy days exploring the coastline. The hosts unobtrusive service was just perfect, we felt so welcome. A great base with stunning views close to all the local amenities, restaurants and pubs but in a quiet and peaceful location. We would most definitely recommend The Lantana for a romantic weekend break.

First time stay at the lantana what a gem of a place,.I would give this 10/10 easily. The room was very clean and views of the harbour wonderful , the breakfast was great you had a choice of cereal ,yougharts, toast, and a full English , ok it got no bar but not a problem it has a fridge to put wine and lager in ,then you can sit on the terrace and have a drink and relax . We have already booked for next year. A big thank you to Sandra & John for a wonderful stay

No sooner had we rung the bell when John was collecting all our bags and showing us to our pretty room…..recently redecorated by Sandra……what a view too! Some rooms face the harbour and others the esplanade. We had room 1 and there was always something going to or from the marina. Also, it faces East so lovely to wake up to the morning sun. A great choice for breakfast and our hostess obviously enjoys cooking the full English . There is also Fresh fruit, pain au chocolate, cereals, yoghurt, toast, various teas and coffees…..spoilt for choice.. The bed was really comfortable, the shower hot, good lighting for a bedroom with all facilities plus a small fridge. Wi-Fi throughout. The proximity to the centre means that you can walk from The Lantana to the beach, Pavillion, restaurants, pubs, cinema and the shops. A parking permit is given on arrival for display on the dashboard……a huge bonus in Weymouth where parking could be at a premium during the busy months. Libby and Terry

Lovely stay at the Lantana. Stayed in a very generous double with far reaching views over the bay. Super comfy bed. Exceedingly spacious room with a sofa in. Absolutely spotless and very restful. Great wi fi/tv to connect Spotify to. Sandra and John are lovely hosts. We were welcomed with a refreshing drink and anniversary treats in our room on arrival. They cater for gluten free too and even left gluten free shortbread in the room. Lovely terrace out the back of the property to enjoy a fab breakfast overlooking the harbour. They hold a number of parking permits for the surrounding streets too which is handy if you can find a spot which we did. Would definitely stay again.

The whole stay from start to finish was seamless John and Sandra were outstanding hosts and nothing was to much trouble we really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be going back 5star

We recently stayed a few nights at the Lantana. One of the best places we have ever stayed at! Wonderful room with sea views, comfy bed, spotlessly clean, and very peaceful. Wonderful breakfast with lots of choice. Our hosts Sandra and John were fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble, very friendly and contacted us as soon as room was ready. Outstanding experience, we will definitely return!

We came to stay for a few nights at the start of November - the weather was wet and very stormy, but that didn't detract at all from the very warm and friendly welcome we received from John and Sandra - they were very helpful giving us a few tips on plaes to eat and explore, and the breakfasts were an absolute treat. The room was tidy and well-presented, and the views were brilliant -especially when the storm was driving wild waves along the shoreline - nice to watch with a cup of tea from the comfort of a safe dry bedroom! A lovely stay and we'd definitely visit again in future - many thanks!
