The Woolpack Hotel

Unfortunately back in March we had a debacle of a stay.Stained bedding,no sheet but a duvet cover used as one that didn't even fit. Shambles of an experience in the restaurant with long long long waits,missing items,some items fridge cold instead of hot,not allowed what dessert we wanted.All whilst watching a prospective wedding couple get treated like royalty and get amazing food.They were the only other people in the restaurant, so it ******! Anyway,after complaining, a Balfour Hospitality representative contacted us and gave us a full refund which is totally amazing and very generous; but; there's always a but. He said he wanted us to see how Balfour Hospitality do it properly and wanted us to spend a complimentary night at one of their other venues.To this day we have heard nothing and received no response to our messages.Im not after the free night, I just want you to not promise people a fabulous complimentary night if it was all lies.Our experience of both Balfour Hospitality and The Woolpack Tenterden is bad,very bad!

What’s an amazing team of staff at the woolpack! My best friend’s wedding was held here over the weekend and it was absolutely brilliant. Delicious food wonderful atmosphere and the entire staff were absolutely fantastic everybody from housekeeping & bar staff to Dwayne the manager. literally nothing was too much trouble so patient kind and professional. Thank you so much for having us.

Very comfortable stay , lovely food and friendly staff. Very spacious room with a huge bed and plenty of space. Dinner was excellent especially recommend the cheese plate to finish but only needed one between us. Full English for breakfast kept us full all day.

The room was ok but beware of the hot water temp as It is far too hot and I still have a sore foot to remind me.

We stayed at the Woolpack Inn and i have to say it was fabulous, the room i stayed in was called Nannettes rose and it was spotlessly clean, overlooking the church next door. The bed was super comfy. The breakfast in the morning is a must, the best full English i have ever had. We ate in the restaurant and the food is excellent too. The service was brilliant, Dwayne the manager was so nice as were all the staff.

Really amazing, the room and staff were all lovely. The only single thing I would say is to put a warning in the bathroom about the water system because I lots a few years off my life the first time it went off.

Met by Alex in the carpark who offered to carry our bag for us. This is a welcoming very old pub. Informed that the oldest part being 1474. We named it The Wibbly Wobbly hotel, full of beams and uneven floors. Such charm! Watched the six nations rugby in the bar with a number of locals whilst eating a great home cooked pie and more than acceptable burger. Excellent atmosphere Room was fine with a perfectly comfortable bed and a nice view out to the high street. Excellent breakfast with a comprehensive choice of cooked food. All taken care of by the lovely Duane, who made every effort to make everything right for our stay.

Had a very relaxing stay here for a weekend in Tenterden whilst we did the winery tour at nearby Chapel Down. Hosts were great, very friendly and welcoming, bar area is lovely to spend some time in and to soak up the atmosphere of the building. Don’t eat here but the breakfast the next morning was one of the best we’ve ever had anywhere - would come back

This should hav been a relaxing evening stay, perhaps with a glass or two of Hush Heath / Balfour, but sadly not. Although we booked through *********** the arrival and subsequent customer service was below the standard of the shabbiest B&B and not befitting of this brand. We had to go dig out someone to check us in who, rather sharply, told us he was on his now and we had to come back after 3, while I appreciate that check in was supposed to be 3pm the whole "I'm on my own" became something of a mantra for the stay. When we got back we again had to dig out a person to check us in, looks like the day staff member was the only person working in the hotel the whole evening. We were shown to a room that, with a little more care, could have been a stunning period room. The inclusion of cheap transparent plastic tables just made it look nasty. Our booking clearly shows "1 large double bed" although there were very clearly 2 single beds. The city team member didn't seem to care. I asked for them to be pushed together and ... yep, he was on his own and didnt know if it could be done, and it wasn't, when we got back from dinner there was no change. There was also no heating when we got up on the Sunday morning. We didn't book for breakfast and I am glad we didn't as there was only one housekeeper (that we had to search for to give the keys to) in the entire hotel so god knows how they were intending to cope with the number of settings that were lead for breakfast. Sadly I will not be back and I advise other travellers not to as well.
