Mahatta Home Stay| Rooms & Restaurant

The rooms were home beyond home. Not the typical hotel set up. it was a beautiful experience to stay in Mahatta. Rajbagh is the best location in Srinagar to have a very peaceful and calm stay. Food was excellent. Its a pure veg restaurant full of delights. I loved the ambiance, the decor, the washrooms and everything simple yet elegant about this place.

I stayed from march 23 to 26 Room was handed very quick Property is very good nice location and quite environment Two issues are Hot water in bathroom … no proper arrangement you have to waste 2 buckets before the hot water kicks in. 2nd room heater which soley depends upon the hotel ppl when to start n when to put it off ..these two thngs need to be improved Rest food and other service are good Jeevan prem both are good

Well maintained and spacious rooms. Property is at very nice location and has well maintained park. Overall stay was very pleasant. Special mention to food served here which was very much appreciated by my parents who are senior citizens. Staffs are quite courteous.

This is a beautiful property at a very prime location. Rooms have beautiful decor and are maintained quite well. The garden view from the room is cherry on the cake. Also, they provide really good food at reasonable prices. Staff is efficient and helpful. Special mention to the delicious cake baked by Mrs.Mehta. Certainly the best place in Srinagar that you can stay at if you prefer home stays over hotels. Would love to visit again!

We loved staying here. Anitaji and her team are kind and lovely and go out of their way to help you and make your stay as comfortable as possible. The food is plentiful and delicious, and some of it coming fresh from the beautiful garden. The rooms are clean, comfortable and nicely decorated, and the location of the home stay is great: close to shops, cafés and the river, but in a quiet area. Highly recommend staying here.

This is a wonderful property that gives one the feeling of a home away from home. Rooms are spacious and clean and have views of the garden. Our room opened out into the beautiful garden which was in full bloom with pink as the predominant hue in May. Service is good and the meals are delicious. They are happy to cater to guest preferences and requests for meals (we enjoyed a sumptuous Kashmiri veg wazwan for one of our dinner meals). The strategic location of the property allows for easy access to reaching popular eateries, shopping and strolling ***** the boulevard and residency road on foot (if you enjoy walking) or a short auto ride. If you are in luck (with the owners not travelling) and get a chance to meet them, specially Anita it’s a delight to walk through her garden with her enjoying her contagious passion for flowers and fruits growing there. We had an amazing stay and look forward to staying there again. Thank you for your hospitality.

A nice place to stay. The rooms are quite traditional, comfortable and heating was provided. The bathroom was a bit cold, there was hot water but it could be a little hit and miss. The gardens were beautiful and the little restaurant was nice, food was ok and the staff were lovely.

Amazing property. Rooms are Royal, cozy, spacious, clean (vintage feel). Service is good and owner of the property Mrs. Mehta is actively involved and she is very cute. My friends had come ***** and we had an amazing stay. It’s Taj or Lalit or Mahata! Shah

Very misleading, don't fall for the outdoor pictures. Yes, it might look clean and beautiful from outside, but once you stay you'll understand how pathetic their service is. First, we didn't get hot water in the washroom on our first day. It was 6°C and we had to use freezing cold water, specially my mom who is 50+ had a very difficult stay. When we enquired, they said they can provide next day only. Second, they didn't provide packaged bottle water even after asking them multiple times. They always said next day which never came. Third, breakfast time is 8-10 but you won't get to eat after 9am. They will give excuses like sab khatam ho***a. Same goes for dinner. Fourth, they are charging 450pp for an average simple veg meal but while booking they said 250. They are charging extra on arrival which is very unethical and misleading. We had booked for 3 nights, but because of their pathetic service we wanted to change our stay but couldn't find anything for those dates. So, had to suffer those 3 nights. Overall, very bad experience and I won't recommend this place to anyone.
