Ulasan Shantou Marriott Hotel

Pros: 1. the service is great! Yeli at the front desk was very helpful and knowledgeable. Introduced the area and shops for us. 2. the Cantonese restaurant is good. (Don’t order the lobster porridge, not worth the price) the rest were quite nice. The breakfast was amazing. Even better than four seasons in Guangzhou as Marriot has more freshly cooked options. Worth getting the buffet breakfast when booking rooms. 3. the sea view is very nice (if the weather is not foggy) 4. locations: is convenient but not too central. A shopping mall right next to it, but the shopping mall is very quiet and not a lot of shops opened. Cons: 1. The room is good but not splendid. It’s a new hotel, open in 2022, and you can see breakage here and there already. Perhaps the erosion from the sea breeze is that powerful? 2. location: it’s by the sea/harbour, a new development area, so if you want a quiet, relaxing hotel, happy to just eat at the hotel and no mood to explore, this will be suitable. If you want to visit other area, then taxi is your friend. And be mindful when it rains, it will be difficult to get a taxi. (The 4th picture is the lobster rice porridge-not recommended 😅)

Hotel was very nice and clean, and the receptionist July was kind enough to upgrade our room to sea view. Also provided breakfast for free. We enjoyed our stay

The hotel is located next to a convention center which has limited restaurants. Transport is convenient when taking bus or the local e-hailing car. Overall the stay was pleasant and was an experience. You pay what you get.

There is nothing to complain for my stay in this hotel for 2 days. The staff are so efficient, friendly and helpful. They are trained to be very motivated to help hotel guests esp the staff at the lobby.

1st class service from Front Desk to House-Keeping. Cafe was helpful while Concierge with strong initiative especially Gary. Rooms were nice with good view.

Very good breakfast, excellent front desk and housekeeping service. Especially Ms Guo at the front desk, who is extremely helpful.

Room is clean, reception is fine, but the cafeteria has no service

The room was very clean and free of the smoking smell even in the corridor. The breakfast was beyond my expectation, and the m lounge was one of the biggest i ever seen before.

Excellent hotel, just the bar at night is simple with uninspiring musicians, but the atmosphere makes up for it all!

Overall is good . Thanks to July at front office who has been very helpful. However, it was an unpleasant experience with the door lock (Room 3505) and it would be better if you could fix the problem the soonest without bothering your guest for several unsuccessful attempts

I feel annoying , front desk staff continue to solicit comments. Also the housekeeping staff need training , the room is dirty and not up to international standard. Location not so convenient.
