Came to Salou for the first time on 28th September, stayed here at 4R Playa Park. Room was clean and tidy with cleaner in everyday, about the only positive I have for the hotel was it was clean. You have to pay for the fridge and even the kettle. We paid for the fridge but not the kettle as we would rather go without than have to pay for something that should be free. Obviously you’re gonna want to pay for the fridge to store your water. Was surprised to find out after we paid that the fridge was a mini fridge!! Never had this in any other hotel. Entertainment was rubbish, walked back to our room every night as it seems to be aimed towards the older generation and OAPs. Had a crap kids disco every night, literally just a woman dancing not greatly to some random songs. Think even the kids got sick of the same thing every night. Was looking forward to the karaoke but the sound system was absolutely awful, they need to find a new DJ for karaoke 100% I wouldn’t even pay the guy if he done it at my bar. Didn’t get involved in the bingo, but the bingo was very mediocre too, no fun added. Cocktail was plain and boring not as advertised in the menu, got it in some rubbish small glass and cost around €9. We decided to go to the Victoria pub down the road for their karaoke and bingo, was really good and went twice during our stay. I even won at bingo on my last night. Highly recommend this place. The pool is absolutely freezing, we went in twice and for only a couple of minutes. My arms and legs were stinging and went numb, I could barely move in the pool and only just managed to walk out with help of my partner. Never have I went into a pool on holiday and it be like jumping into an ice pool, so bad. Hardly anyone went into the pool and those that did were out straight away. They use salt water in the pool too. I got the sense of what it would’ve been like to be in the water from the Titanic sinking. Kids were constantly jumping and bombing in the pool, soaked us numerous times. Life guard wasn’t doing anything and was sat there chatting to other staff most the time, really seemed that he didn’t want to be there. If your planning on taking a book to the pool to ready I wouldn’t recommend as the life guards let the kids run riot. There were even kids running around the pool at night time during the evening and parents no where to be seen. Even had a very drunken parent flirting with me off her head and the kids were running everywhere, one even slipped into the pool. Hotel staff didn’t do anything or say anything to the parents. She even dropped a bag of alcohol on the stair well with all her kids around her, she could barely walk! This shouldn’t be aloud. The breakfast was awful, I’m used to this style breakfast but the bacon was awful, sausages were, beans tasted worse than tescos own brand. Eggs were over cooked every single morning, really disliked it. Literally just ended up having a coffee every morning and going elsewhere for breakfast. So g
