Grand Hotel Gota de SAL

BEWARE!! Excellent staff and workers - Mari is a wonderful housekeeper BUT- the entire hotel was just kicked out today by the police- seems there is a dispute with the owner and whoever he had as a property manager- we think- nothing was told to anyone- just get out!! Very rude and Gestapo like tactics. We were paid for about 2 more weeks and told it doesn’t matter GET OUT?? Very disturbing the way it was handled!! Numerous police were around- it was really a sad sad scene! If this place does reopen I would never go back the way we were treated! Also, if you choose to stay here bring ear plugs this is the noisiest hotel I have ever stayed at. The music will keep you up most of the night! Plus beware of the owner he was the one who brought this HELL down on guests who were paid in full and had nothing to do with this situation! Really a horrible situation that was handled in a low down dirty way!

Had another great stay at the Gota. We like to stay here before heading to the all inclusive resorts. Its close to the square and restaurants. You can walk right out front to the beach. They have an area where you can get chairs. Its hard to beat this place for the price. The rooms are always clean, AC works, WiFi, fridge, etc. They have a nice gathering area outside with a pool. Some complain about the music from across the street but we enjoy it while sitting by the pool. The staff is always nice and accommodating. We have stayed at a handful of these types of hotels in Puerto Morelos but always seem to find ourselves back at the Gota.

We arrived into Cancun early in the morning, so before making the drive to our first destination, stopped in Puerto Morelos. We walked down to the beach and ended up at the beach club connected to the hotel. Its $300 pesos ($150 if you're staying at the hotel) for a palapa rental for an entire day - this includes 2 loungers, 2 tables, and 4 chairs. All in all, we spent 3 different days at the beach club. Antonio provided amazing service to us, and even remembered us days later! We actually needed someplace to stay from an extra night, so we booked for later in the week. And it did not disappoint. We were booked into a room on the far back left of the hotel, with a second door that opened out to the beach side. The room had 2 full beds, full bathroom, plenty of surfaces for luggage, bags, etc. It also had a mini-fridge and a safe. The hotel is very central, and we walked everywhere we wanted to go within Puerto Morelos proper. We were able to leave our car parked in the parking lot with no security concerns. There is a live music bar across the street (Lauro's) which can be heard from the hotel, but they do shut down around 11ish. So be aware if you are looking for quiet in the evening. Other than that, it was quiet, and leaving the window open, you can hear the ocean. When we come back to Cancun/Puerto Morelos, we will be booking at Gota de Sal!

We stayed for 10 days and it was perfect everyday! Close to the beach, super nice and efficient staff, comfortable, safe and clean. There are many restaurants and the supermarket is close. Also included a small fridge and plenty of room for our things. We will be back!

En términos generales, con respecto a la Calidad - precio, el hotel es malísimo, como ejemplo, los colchones son increíblemente incómodos, aparentan ser saldos de una venta de cosas usadas; el Internet es patético y no aceptan pago electrónico. La ubicación en excelente.

L emplacement est top , avec son accès à la plage . Un peu bruyant le soir à cause du beach bar . L hôtel vieilli et est mal entretenu , peinture défraîchie , carrelages cassés , drap avec tâches ....et comble de malchance ,des algues plein la plage .L eau de la piscine était bien trouble. C était pour une nuit ...sinon nous ne serions pas rester plus longtemps . Ça vaut pas plus que les 45 dollars ...
