Spark by Hilton Nacogdoches

Great hotel! Very clean. Every staff I encountered made my stay memorable. Kimberly at front desk very helpful. I definitely would come back here. Break fast is fresh. My room was also upgraded. Electric car charge at parking lot. I was able to charge my car.

Great stay and very nice place. Well kept up rooms and very clean overall. Would definitely book a room here again. Good breakfast in the morning and hot coffee. Very close to downtown and other things to do. Me and my significant other had a great time together and quality stay.

We stopped for an overnight stay on a four-day road trip. This hotel had very good ratings and a pretty cheap price. We found out when we got there the reason why. The hotel has undergone a sale, is changing its name to Spark, and is in the middle of a massive remodel. There were huge rolls of carpet in the lobby. Construction was ongoing so there were supplies and material stacked in the drive. And the smell of paint fumes throughout. That was the reason for the reduced price. We stayed because it had already been paid for. The actual room was quite nice and clean. The seats were clean. The water was hot. The amenities in the room were nice. The breakfast, if you can call it that, was basically toast and bagels. There were no proteins. So if you want eggs or sausage, you have to go eat somewhere else. Thankfully, once you’re in the room, you could not smell the paint fumes I would’ve usually given this hotel 4 stars. Because of the crappy breakfast, I would’ve given it 3 stars. Because of the surprise construction, paint fumes, and having to walk around construction equipment, I am only giving this 2 stars

They are renovating the hotel which they didn’t mention when we booked but it didn’t really affect us. They are going from a Super 8 by Wyndham to a Spark by Hilton. Our first impression of the hotel was okay as we booked into a newly renovated room which was very nice to start out. And then, our neighbors moved in and we realized the walls are so thin and so badly insulated we could hear their entire conversation (and they weren’t overly loud at first). As the evening progressed it got considerably worse, and we could literally hear EVERYTHING they were doing… it was extremely annoying and frustrating until late into the night. We can’t even blame the guests, the sound insulation is the problem. After a bad night with little sleep (in an uncomfortable bed), we went down for coffee and breakfast only to find there was no hot breakfast as advertised! They served the worst, cheapest quality food you can think of! No fresh fruit, no boiled eggs, nothing even remotely healthy and no hot food at all… Even the yoghurt was cheap and nasty! It was terrible! We had a coffee and left to eat breakfast elsewhere even though we had paid for a hot breakfast. On a positive note, the staff were pleasant enough, the hotel is located centrally, and luckily we only stayed for 2 nights. Sadly, we will not be back.
