Sumus Hotel Monteplaya & Spa 4Sup - Adults Only

Went with a friend on a Shearings coach trip - just returned yesterday - loved the hotel. The staff were really friendly and very helpful and the facilities were good as well. We took advantage of the spa area on one day and at €15 for three hours and a €10 deposit for either a robe or a towel for the whole holiday it was well worth the money. We also sat in the quiet area just outside as the sun stayed there until around lunchtime and preferred it to sitting by the pool as it was not quite so exposed and there were shaded areas as well. The food in the restaurants was very good however some dishes had a little too much olive oil in them for me so couldn’t eat those and the meat was a little tough on occasion. However they did omelettes at breakfast if you asked and I enjoyed a few mushroom omelettes during my stay. I had a great room the and my balcony got the afternoon and evening sun. Great for a cup of tea or a glass of wine! Brilliant water pressure in the shower and the choice of a normal or waterfall power shower. Plus I had his and her sinks so the extra sink came in handy every so often. You could get your sheets changed if you so wish so took advantage of that twice. The rooms were spotless and clean. Not sure whether I would do a long stay holiday in Malgrat again but would definitely stay at the hotel again for a few days as part of an independent travel holiday if I am ever passing through that way.

the hotel was so lovely , i liked my appar**ent a very large bed and comfortable , the chamber maids where very good , the staff very helpfull , i liked that the hotel was adult only , that i had my balcony of my own and able to smoke on my balcony and the food was great . the only down side was when we chose are food we had to serve it on cold plate,s

My partner and I had a really good experience here. We went for an Easter break/ my birthday. The resort is adults only so was lovely and peaceful. Very chilled a**osphere with good areas to relax. Poolside and table service. The staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful. The food was really good! We enjoyed it very much. There was lot of variety catering for all and there was something different each night. The room was warm as usual with most hotel rooms, but having the balcony helped cool the room and we had a partial sea view. The room was lovely, modern, clean and spacious, there was a large walk in shower and our room had a double sink. Our room came with a fridge and hot drinks station. The gym was free with about 4 pieces of equipment, weights and yoga mat. Only myself and partner were using it at the time so no waiting for machines. Towels were provided and water. We used the spa 2x at 15€ pp we loved it! It included an indoor pool, saunas, steam room, ice bath, heated loungers and hot tub. Only thing we found was on the 2nd visit it was busier and people were hogging the heated loungers which was rude. Drink station provided also and lockers. We only went in the bar once so cannot comment but it was a nice space and I know some nights provided entertainment. The hotel was in a good location with shops, food places and bars all around and the train station is about a 10/15min walk away, with a direct route to Barcelona at around £10pp and to other resorts close by. Overall such a lovely experience would gladly go again!

Nice room, lovely food buffet type for both breakfast & dinner. Beer, spirits, coffee ect very reasonable. Located right I tge middle of malgrat. I would go back to this hotel , it's very lean big rooms with a balcony

A lovely hotel with nice pool areas and very helpful staff. Food was very good and rooms comfortable, well presented and practical. Location is excellent and within a short walk of the centre of Malgrat De Mar.

The hotel was out of this world , my room was lovely decorated and a good size for one person. The staff were friendly and nothing was a chore .I was all inclusive but the prices were reasonable . ...

The hotel itself has a lot to offer, with spacious common areas, a large pool with a jacuzzi, and easy access to Barcelona via a 15-minute walk to the train station. However, the experience is significantly dampened by the neighboring Hotel Reymar, which caters to a younger crowd and often generates excessive noise. Noisy Neighbors The biggest drawback of the hotel is its proximity to Hotel Reymar, which is known for its lively a**osphere and young clientele. The noise from the neighboring hotel can be quite disruptive, especially for those seeking a peaceful and relaxing getaway. Uncomfortable Beds The beds in the rooms are unfortunately quite uncomfortable, leading to restless nights and waking up with aches and pains. This is a major downside, especially for those who prioritize a good night's sleep. Underwhelming Breakfast The included breakfast was a letdown, with both the cooked options and the pastries being underwhelming. The cooked breakfast was not particularly enjoyable, and the pastries were often stale. As a result, we found ourselves seeking breakfast options elsewhere. Other Observations The hotel's spa trea**ents are on the pricey side, and the beach near the hotel has a rather unpleasant pebbled surface that can be hard on the feet. Overall Impression The hotel has potential with its spacious layout, ample amenities, and convenient access to Barcelona. However, the noise from the neighboring hotel, the uncomfortable beds, and the disappointing breakfast significantly detract from the overall experience. If you're looking for a truly peaceful and relaxing getaway with a satisfying breakfast, this may not be the ideal choice.

Hotel did not disappoint! Stayed here for 4 nights bed and breakfast with my sister. Room - it was the perfect space for 2 people, only slight downside was our balcony faced a basketball/tennis court but we did not hear much noise from them. Lovely to have a little fridge in the room and tea/coffee making facilities. Amazing bathroom, the shower in particular was spacious. Pool/External Areas - The main pool area was brilliant, always sun loungers available. Only slight critique would be the water temperature - it was rather cold! Once the sun disappeared from the main pool area, there is space on the solarium to catch some extra rays, or even the terrace on the first floor near the gym. Spa/Gym - We paid 15€ for a 3 hour pass to the spa which I would say is excellent value for money, I also paid 2€ for a day gym pass, I happened to be the only person in there so it was like a private gym! Food - The breakfast buffet selection was exceptional. Plenty to cater to any tastes/dietary requirements (myself as a vegetarian had no issues with the food labelling). The only downside to the food services was the bistro. We ordered a pizza, and it was clearly a frozen supermarket pizza which is a let down as everything else at the hotel had been nothing short of amazing. All in all would rate this hotel 8.5/10 - definitely worth a stay and I would happily return.

I can say the stay was excellent in all depar**ents... except privacy in the bathroom being opened and opposite two double mirrors. No entertainment on Mondays and being a bit lacking with the DJs, but the live singers were good. ...and WATCH OUT for the pickpockets in Barcelona...we were caught so be aware and wear bum bags or front facing bags and keep in front of you at all times. Apart from that an excellent clean hotel and would highly recommend.
