Taplow House Hotel & Spa

Lovely place and nice grounds. Clean rooms. Large outdoor spa pool. Very relaxing. Wonderful breakfast. Reception area is a little odd, just a table in the hallway. But otherwise great stay.

We have just returned from a delightful stay at Taplow House and SPA. We found the staff to be helpful and friendly. The room was nice and clean, and the bed was very comfortable. We booked a couples massage trea**ent in the SPA which we found very relaxing. We also enjoy some great meals at the hotel, including Afternoon Tea. Recomendable.

I stayed here for one night and the hotel was immaculate. No area of the hotel was inconsistent with the rest. Having read some of the reviews, I was a little apprehensive, but I would say that customer service was actually exceptional. Attentive staff and lots of smiles. Room was clean and we had a great view over the lawn. Spa jets were powerful and there were plenty of lounging options in the spa area. I can imagine in the summer it would get busy but nevertheless we went on a weekend when it was practically empty. One sauna and nice internal areas too. I feel like the photos available do not do justice to the hotel itself. Dinner and breakfast was hearty and again the service was at a high level. I believe some work has been undertaken to ensure guests are welcomed and looked after. This was evident at dinner with Hulya and Meet, who couldn't do enough for us. We felt like the hotel has placed customer service as a priority. There was also one lady (tall asian) lady who had just started work at the hotel but was really kind to us (sorry cannot recall the name). I normally don't like to stay repeatedly at the same hotel, but I would happily return here again. Hopefully see you soon again :)

My fiancé surprised me with a spa break at tallow house.. but there was a lot to be desired. On arrival staff were attentive and friendly. We stayed in Cliveden which was clean but basic for a 4* hotel. Bed was comfortable but room felt bare with no fridge or mini bar provided. Food was nice and the waiters were very friendly. Especially Meet who made our stay! In my opinion “spa” is a strong word. The spa consists of an outdoor hydro pool that can seat 6, a sauna and trea**ent rooms. Luckily we had a nice day and could enjoy the hydro pool outside. We had a couples massage booked which was a disaster. Firstly there had been a mix up with the rooms so we had to wait until the couples room became available. Staff seem to be agency staff and we’re rude by talking around the corner - completely within earshot and we’re completely incapable of giving a massage. There was no background music and staff failed to ask us any basic health questions or areas we would like to target. It was byeeee far the worst spa experience I’ve ever had. After the spa we wanted to leave immediately. At reaching the front desk there was a woman on the phone who blindly ignored us for 10 minutes whilst we waited and continued to huff as if we were causing her grief. Eventually another member of staff come to help us checkout.

We had a 2 night stay at this hotel, and had a really great experience. ALL the staff were excellent, very friendly and attentive, Cara who looked after us at breakfast was outstanding, great service, great sense of humour and her attention to detail was superb. Thoroughly recommend this hotel and I’m sure we will return

Myself and my friend booked a last minute spa package at Taplow House Hotel. Before arrival we were given our evening meal time and the time of our trea**ents. Due to it being a last minute booking they couldn’t fit us in for trea**ents until Sunday morning, the day we checked out which we could understand. We made use of the spa, although this is just a Sauna and an outdoor hot tub with some sun loungers around. Luckily the sun was out so we could be outside. We arrived for our trea**ent on Sunday morning where we were asked to take a seat while they found out where the therapists were. We waited for 30 minutes to eventually be told the agency staff had not turned up and we were unable to have our massage/facial. During this 30 minute wait, staff were round the corner discussing what was happening, laughing and giggling rather than keeping us updated. After being told our trea**ents wouldn’t go ahead we were taking to reception where our details would be taken in order for a refund to be processed. We were told a manager would contact us on Monday, which they didn’t. We continued to call throughout Tuesday as well as emails being sent to the manager. By Friday no one had contacted us, 5 emails were ignored by the manager and over 20 phone calls were made. We were continuously told someone would call us back but they didn’t and the manager was supposedly in meetings all day everyday.. By Friday I eventually spoke to reception host Stacey who took my number directly to the finance manager and within 10 minutes called me to say the refund had been processed. There has been no communication and the customer service has been awful. Safe to say we will not be returning and would not recommend if you’re looking for a relaxing spa break.

We hired glenfell room for afternoon tea for 24 people the food and service was outstanding. All the staff were extremely helpful and we also had a main server his name was 'Meet' made everyone comfortable and he gave 5 STAR service!!! he served everyone needs instantly and with a smile, made our party extra special. I'd definitely recommend hiring a venue and the afternoon tea. Everyone was impressed. Thank you taplow will come back again:)

Hotel looks lovely upon arrival. Rooms could have been lovely but were not very well taken care off. They hadn’t put a sheet on my bed to cover the trashed divan beds, and the carpet had clearly been cut and removed at some point and shoddily stuck back down. Really not how you expect to find a 4* hotel room. The food was pretty average. Service was atrocious in the bar area. On multiple occasions we had to traipse round the hotel to find a staff member after our drinks hadn’t appeared after a half hour wait. The “pool” is tiny (it feels full with 6 people in it!) there’s nowhere to actually sit around it. A friend and I booked the same trea**ents but had completely different experiences - felt very much like the staff were making it up as they went along. It’s a shame because it has the potential to be really lovely.

Equipment in room not working. Bathroom extractor not working. Bathtub plug string way too short. Quality of breakfast is disappointing. Does not look appetising at all. Room key had to be reset everyday because staff does not know how to properly program the key. No help on check in with getting suitcases upstairs The barman does not know how to make a cappuccino and the had very few of the beers on sale in stock. Room was clean and serviced everyday.
