London Holborn

L'emplacement de l'hôtel est tout simplement incroyable, à quelques minutes à pied de Saint Pancras, Bitish Museum et Trafalgar Square. L'hôtel lui-même est totalement insipide, avec une réception terne, des chambres spacieuses mais tout aussi ternes, une salle de petit déjeuner sans fenêtre. Le jour de notre arrivée, le système informatique de l'hôtel connaissait de telles lenteurs qu'il a fallu attendre longtemps pour se faire attribuer une chambre.

This was the worst hotel stay I have ever experienced. I have always trusted Premier Inn and stay very regularly; you come to expect a certain standard of cleanliness, safety and service with the brand. On arrival, I noticed mould around the window and a damp smell in the room. (Photos show the mould). It was awful. I went straight to reception but they couldn’t do anything as the hotel was full. I was offered a free breakfast as compensation but I felt the issue could not be solved with a free breakfast and didn’t want them to think that was sufficient recompense. I had also made other plans for breakfast. The receptionist said we could move rooms the following day but we would have to pack our bags first thing and leave them in reception. As we had valuables and electronics, I didn’t want to do this either, as we were out for the whole day and evening. The photo attached shows how bags are stored in the reception area so you can see why I chose not to take this option. Bags were left on show and in view of the street outside with open access through the main doors. No staff were on reception or in the lobby on a very regular basis during our stay so bags are simply left unattended and not securely stored. I complained via the website on my return and was given a £63 refund against a total cost of £265. To me, this is unacceptable and in no way reflects the level of discomfort and uncleanliness we encountered. It completely spoilt our stay. I will never stay in a Premier Inn again.

Most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever slept on. I had to sleep in the bath tub!!!! Also what looked like blood and vomit stains on pillow and duvet!! Reported bed but receptionist not interested! I put a complaint in online on 1st Jan and got an acknowledgment saying to give it 20 days. It’s more than that now and I’ve heard nothing.

Our family of 4 stayed in this location for three nights. The location is very convenient, walking distance to the British museum, and a short ride away from other top London attractions. The room we stayed in had a full bed and two single beds, just enough for the 4 of us. The room was quite and we slept well, so well that we missed the first morning's breakfast (which ends at 10am). We made it to the breakfast the next two days and it was excellent. The only thing I would suggest for improvement is to add a laundry room. We had to go to a laundromat 0.7 miles away and spent over 10 pounds on a medium load of laundry.

This was our third stay at the Holborn Premier Inn. It is in a great location; a short walk from Holborn Kingsway tube station, with bus routes nearby. Unfortunately the hotel is looking quite tired. The bathroom had been upgraded with an excellent walk-in shower but the room needed a deep clean, as did the public areas. We were delayed quite a bit by an unresponsive check-in system and I had to go back again the next day to try and sort out the billing. We asked twice to have the room serviced (they don't service automatically for the second night) but this was ignored. The standard wifi seems to be less efficient - I presume to get you to upgrade to premium wifi? The historically brilliant breakfast offer seems to be under cost pressure, with poor juice quality and smaller, and less flavoursome, sausages. Apart from one person, the small team was friendly and professional. The impression was of a team under pressure and a hotel trying to manage cost pressures. We have been regular users of Premier Inns and hope that this erosion of quality is a one-off.

1. Bed comfortable BUT: 2. £210 per night for 2 people BUT they only give 1 towel. It took 4 complaints and 2 days to get a 2nd towel. 3. Skimped on curtains. Way too short and fitted incorrectly so loads of light come in both top and bottom AT 4:20 a.m. Guess how I know! 4. Staff ignore assistance bell at 11:00p.m.
