Really pleasant place to stay. Lovely clean pool secluded with ample loungers. Nice rooms around the pool ….quiet. Food really nice and just a 12min walk to the beach. Staff so kind and helpful. Supermarket 5 min walk. We would stay again if ever we returned.

Really great place: clean and comfortable room, beatiful garden with a lot of plants and swimming pool, reasonably good WiFi, very good breakfast - you can choose between several options (fruits, eggs, sausages, jam and butter, pancakes, coffee or tea, fresh juices) or take them all :) short walk ~10 minutes to Nungwi beach. Host allowed us to check in earlier and even to check out later + we get a bonus breakfast. Disliked · Road to the beach isn't very nice (but it is safe at day or night) and you can pick a taxi if you wish. Sometimes late night noise coming from disco in the neighborhood.

I would highly recommend Highland. Lovely place and great value for money. Very clean and well maintained. Very helpful and friendly owners and staff. Great food / menu especially the Friday evening show. Lovely pool area and gardens. Plenty of areas in the gardens to sit and relax. Few minutes walk from bars, restaurant and beach.

Avoid this place. Rooms vary in standard, our friends' was basic but fine, whereas ours had dirty marks on the wall, some questionable electrical safety, 3 sockets not working, leaking sink in the bathroom. The shower is powerful and hot but when put on the holder it just shoots at the ceiling so must be held in your hand. Beds comfortable enough. The pool itself is nice but the pool area is a bit tired with dirty tiles and burst covers on the sun loungers. Breakfast is made fresh to order, average but does the job. Strangely you need to pay to have water at breakfast?! The location is much further from the beach than stated on listing. 15 minutes according to Google Maps but the roads are dirt tracks full of holes, mud and puddles so it takes much longer. The local area is quiet during the day but seems to be a party place for locals at night. The icing on the cake is that the hotel bar plays nightclub level music till 3 or 4am every night. The owner of the bar was extremely unhelpful and rude when we asked for it to be turned down. He told us just to check out if we didn't like it but unfortunately we had already paid for our whole stay. Nightmare.

The room was spacious, air conditioned The pool area is very pleasant and there are many places to rest The staff is always at the need of customers, good reception. The restaurant is good value for money.

Hotel have very nice garden and pool. Rooms and garden were clean. The beds were comfortable. Staff were nice, but service was slow (appropriate for Zanzibar - hakuna matata, pole pole, no worries...).
