Good size room, could do more with maintenance of place, especially with the cleaning of the room, nice breakfast, like the bar area as well, nice selection of drinks, good swimming pool and sauna. Great location no far from the city centre. This place with a modern decoration and cleanliness can go up to a 5 star. Lovely staff, always ready to help you to get what you need. Definitely will be back again and will bring my kids too.

The room is old dated. Lack of attention very old stained furniture. The toilet was dirty. Asked to be cleaned to come back and all they did was give me clean towels. Bed sheets full of hairs. Which they changed after I asked to be changed. They did not vacuum the room. Carpets all over the room was old and stained/ dirty. Breakfast was lacking on choices and restaurant carpets dirty seats old with stains. So not pleasant to eat there. The highlight of this stay was the swimming pool facility. Really lovely big and nice.

Very nice hotel, great atmosphere and splendid facilities. Would definitely recommend.

The hotel is just on the outskirts of Ipswich. The staff are very welcoming, and extremely helpful. The rooms are of a good size and very clean. The housekeeping staff cleaned our room every morning after we had gone out, which was excellent. The restaurant food is of a very high standard and there is a good choice including vegetarian options. In the bar area where it is of a relaxed nature, you can order food from the bar menu or the restaurant menu. Either way, nothing is ever too much trouble. The swimming pool, sauna and steam room are a must. My husband used the gym which was of an average size and then would come down to the pool area for a jacuzzi. Although they have the spa treatment available, I can't really comment as I didn't use the facility. If you want a relaxing time or want to visit the seaside, Felixstowe is only a 30minute drive away. There are also many National Trust houses to visit. This the second time we have been to the Belstead Hotel and I can honestly say we will be visiting it again.

No fresh bedding

We stayed in the garden room and was very pleased, Lovely decor and overall great. Room service was very quick and tasty food. We will be returning again.

The hotel was lovely, although a little dated in the rooms. Staff were excellent and check in and check out process was very easy. Disappointed in the spa as they had a boiler issue making it near on impossible to use the pool, jacuzzi and even the sauna was cold. There was also an awful sewage smell in the ladies changing area. We booked the hotel solely because of the spa facilities so not being able to use them did ruin the stay. Had I of known prior to arriving I would have looked into changing hotels.

Bath mat was rolled up in bath showing mould all over the bottom so I chucked it out the bath. Cream coloured hair and footstool were really badly stained. So much so I couldn’t sit on them. I have stayed at this hotel 5 times and have never had a problem like this before.

Generally OK, but only 3 hours sleep a people playing music crazy loud and piano outside in the corridor played 3 times in the middle of the night!

Wow great value, super clean. my friend an I had 2 single rooms which had queen bed. Full breakfast included in the price £67 great value with fab facilities. We would definitely stay again x

Room 504: floor carpet full of stains, window blocked so that you could not have any fresh air, light in drinks making alcove not working, furniture very tacky and armchairs worn, mattress very springy, not firm enough. Generally needing upgrading. However, beautiful comfortable bathroom, newly renovated.

The staff in the bar and restaurant are realy friendly, helpfull and hard working . The food here is reallly good with a good varied menu . The hotel itself and the rooms are very tired and need updating asap as very tatty . The spa and swimming pool are very good . Overall we had a good stay .
