"We stayed in a lagoon room, very close to the beach. You can snorkel in the ocean by the boardwalk and see many fish, which was incredibly enjoyable. Besides the main restaurant, there's also a restaurant by the boardwalk for lunch, and an Aladdin restaurant for dinner that requires reservations. We made sure to book for the next day as soon as we arrived on our first day, and we got to try them all. This is a great place to relax and unwind. Remember to bring your own snorkeling mask and snorkel, as the hotel doesn't offer rentals. There is a small shop that sells them, but the prices are a bit high."

"There weren't many Chinese tourists when I went in April, mostly foreigners. Luckily, the weather was nice both days. The room with a direct ocean view was just okay, but the garden and side ocean view rooms looked nice. Maybe it's just my Chinese palate, but I found the breakfast very average – mostly eggs and bread. Dinner was alright, but my travel companions didn't like it. Kokomo and a burger joint in the nearby shopping street were pretty good. It's a bit of a 20-minute walk to the jetty; you can take a free shuttle bus or a paid shuttle (US$3 per ride). The hotel service was quite good. They generally greeted us and asked our questions proactively. They called our room the day before check-out to ask what time we were leaving and arranged for a concierge to collect our luggage. Since we checked out at 6:30, they even prepared a breakfast box and coffee for us (the box was very generous, containing two bread rolls, yogurt, juice, mineral water, and fruit). Overall, it was a very good experience."

"Firstly I must say this hotel is absolutely beautiful from the design of the building to the esthetic look, unfortunately it goes a bit downhill from here firstly our room was large with 2 huge king-size beds and a plung pool for ourselves and 3 other rooms, not a problem but it is when we have paid extra for exclusive use of it !!!!! We found families and other couples who really shouldn't have been using it I phoned reception on quite a few occasions to complain but was told anyone could use it ! Next is the pool, there are two one quiet at the back of the hotel and one forward of the hotel, the quiet one is spoilt by the kids club where there's screaming kids and A LOT of noise building of the new spa facilities. There are no pool activities only music playing so the older kids are quite bored 🥱 The food is ok but it was catered for the locals as it was Egypt's annual holidays, we didn't go hungry but the sweet section is the same every night. The evening entertainment nothing apart from tape on repeat as it played the same music every night 😞 absolutely nothing to entertain the kids crying screaming and running about because of being boared. The hotel beach is absolutely spotless and plenty of sunbeds and you can get drinks and food, it is very safe for children as it's only knee deep with no reef. You can get a tuk tuk outside the hotel to take you out very cheaply to a bar or a restaurant. Now here's where I must complain to management about the cleaning of our room or lack of it.! Yes the hotel is clean but unless house keeping is kept on top of it the rooms it will soon be very dirty, our shower wasn't cleaned properly in the 2 weeks the floor was slimey and the shower screen wasn't cleaned and the floor was only swept 3 times. Now onto the spa 😯we used the spa on our last day for a shower as we had a late pick up, you have a serious health risk in the ladies showers the floor is absolutely filthy as in photos. Would we return to the Double tree mangroovy hotel NO."

"Overall great hotel. Not particularly well situated if you want to be out and about, great if you want to stay in a hotel, golf and spa complex. My biggest issue was the check in. Poorly organised. No information given. Didn’t have a record of our all inclusive- we had to provide the email. Let standing around with no welcome drink. The hotel is a maze of corridors and different levels. I eventually asked to be shown to my room. Another issue was check out. We were charged for something that we hadn’t signed for (someone else had put it on our room). It took ages to find the slip. We then had to point out it was not our male or signature. It was removed from the bill. No apologies given. Now the good bits. Nice room with bath and shower. The bed was so big and comfortable I didn’t want to go out. Wonderful soft cotton sheets. Very clean. Both bars were good. The food was fabulous. The best we had in our whole time in Egypt. We will comeback just for the food. Pool area is ok. With helpful staff rearranging subbed to accommodate us. Overall a good stay."

"The hotel was predominantly white, and its location was rather remote. The rooms were very wild and primitive, and the private beach was a shallow area that required a long walk to reach for water and wasn't particularly beautiful. The food was also mediocre. In short, unless you're a big fan of cave themes, you might want to consider other options."
