I m National local guide,i went with to see the ravana waterfall alone with my client and family and went for quick drink to this place,the worst place ever i really disappointed of this place ,they overcharge way over the limit also they literally change the price what was mention at beginning, also they fail to submit the menu once they demand it ,i would never take my clients here ever again

6.85689°, 81.05859° With crowded Ella full of tourists, the Ella Mount Heaven hotel far outside Ella is not an alternative at all. Firstly, a tuk-tuk ride from Ella cost you 1500 rupees. Secondly, this hotel exists because of busloads of tourists visiting the restaurant, not the rooms. Thirdly, only Sri Lankans stay in this worn-out hotel. You enter the hotel on the upper level because the lower levels with restaurant and rooms are glued to the rock. A maze of stairs takes you to these levels full of second-hand furniture. No architect was involved in its design: the hotel or former hotels expanded organically in DIY fashion without any consideration, resulting in lots of spaces and small and large stairs: hell for disabled people. The rooms are on the sunrise side away from the noisy road. In March 2024, our room 303 was on minus 3 level (B3) with double verandas and worn-out interiors from second-hand shops, with a comfortable double bed, good air-conditioning, cold shower, television and intermitting and disconnecting Wi-Fi reception. Ella Mount Heaven hotel is not an alternative for an Ella hotel. Stay away.

very good place to enjoy, good views and environment, safety and secured place for all locals and foreigners, our kids enjoyed much, and locations is unique place. more our friends recommended us to visit this. i too recommend all guest and to visit this place.

We were booked in here as part of a last minute tour package. It is the worst hotel by far that we have stayed in our 3 week trip to Sri Lanka and the worst hotel I have stayed in for several years. The hotel is out dated, very poorly maintained, dirty with poorly cleaned rooms. Basic facilities such as running water in sinks, hot water in showers and WiFi were lacking in all the rooms we occupied. Mobile signal is understandably poor due to location which meant we were reliant on WiFi but this was not working in most areas. One room had a strong smell of cigarettes, and very dirty, dusty rugs which exacerbated my nephews asthma. 3 rooms had no hot water were dirty, one with additional ant infestations. The front desk staff were friendly and polite but understood very little English or other languages apart from Sinhala and had very little tourist information. When we reported the above they attempted to remedy the situation but failed. When we complained to the manager and asked for a discount on our restaurant bill the manager was extremely rude shouted aback and talked over us, he had no concept of manners, politeness, or customer service. I have not previously witnessed such terrible hotel management. The best feature about this hotel is the view from the balcony on the reception level which is the best feature of many other Ella hotels. And certainly not unique to this one. I would strongly recommend avoid staying here. There are multitude of hotels at similar or lower budgets which would provide a far more comfortable stay.

This is the first time I’ve written a review, but this hotel is so poorly maintained I had to abandoned my booked room and join my other cousins in their room. There were ants every where in the room, other insects and moths in the bathroom. All the rooms on the 4th level are so poorly maintained. So dirty, dusty, everything looked historic and unclean. Seems like they don’t have enough staff to maintain the place in which case you should only be giving rooms out on levels 1 and 2 and shutdown the rest. Wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone. Food looked poor, and if it’s anything like the rooms, I’m glad I skipped it. My cousin also had a bad stomach after eating breakfast here. The only thing good about this place was the views and location. That’s all.

Do not book this hotel. I don’t usually write reviews, but I’m not even home yet and needed to write this. We were a group of 12 travelling together, this hotel was booked for us as a part of a wider package. Unfortunately we received images of another hotel before accepting, so you can imagine our surprise on arrival. That being said, we accepted the hotel as being ‘quirky’ despite it giving ‘The Shining’ vibes! The rooms are all huge, and each slept 5-6people. Some with their own pools inside. The decor is a mismatch of large random murals, and collectibles. In our room (that I, my husband and 19month old were staying in) smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. To the point that my hair smelled after being in the room for 15minutes. The rugs looked like they hadn’t been washed in years. The AC remote was missing. We had no hot water in the shower and NO RUNNING WATER in the sink. I went to notify reception on arrival and in fairness the staff did try to remedy the issues the same evening. We eventually got water in the sink and I had to give them the solution of providing incense for the smell as it was not easy to air the room. They gave an excuse that there was a fire and the windows were open so the smell came in. Completely untrue as this was undeniable cigarette smoke. The shower was fixed but that night sprang a leak and we had no hot water for showers. On checkout we informed the staff we would not be paying the dinner bill as we felt this was the minimum amount of compensation. The room rate had been prepaid. They said they would speak to the ‘Boss’ he agreed to 5000 rupees off. We declined and said we would at most only pay half of the bill. The boss came out and was literally shouting at and over us and kept repeating ‘why didn’t you say on the first day’. He wouldn’t let me speak but I kept repeating that I did and I listed all of the things that were wrong that I complained about. He continued to talk over and interrupt me and said ‘fine 6000, no more talk’ I was at this point annoyed that he wasn’t even listening so continued to try to make him hear me. He eventually said, fine 10000 off, when I mentioned the smoke smell, and walked away. I’m of the impression that he didn’t want his (white) western guests to hear so wanted to shut down the conversation. As a side note I had at breakfast asked for some mango for my baby, the catering manager said no we only have guava (despite me and my baby seeing a full plate of mango being provided to the ‘boss’ and there being mangos out in the drinks prep area). This guys seemed inconvenienced at the slightest request, even for some milk. I’m also of the impression that we were treated exceptionally poorly by the ‘boss’ as my husband and his family that we were travelling with are Tamil. The guys at reception were sweet but clearly too scared to stand up to the ogre that pays their wage. Avoid this hotel at all costs! The view (the only redeeming factor) is not exclusive to this ven

The hotel is tired and dusty. Everything was old and faded. The rooms may once have been grand and that has faded. Even though I had booked 2 nights and paid the room I booked wasn’t available when I arrived. The food was ordinary.
