"Unfortunately, I arrived very late and didn't feel like looking for somewhere else. The door could only be locked with a padlock and the room wasn't really clean. The best thing about the accommodation was the view, which is really beautiful."

"Spent 2 nights at this hotel during our holiday. Small comfortable rooms ours had a gorgeous view over the flowers and onto the mountains. Breakfast plentiful We had a very early departure and staff were up to help with bags and provide us with a packed breakfast for the journey! Restaurant is next door - connected to hotel but separate (you can’t add the meal to your room bill) Just note if staying at full moon no alcohol served. Very convenient location for walk to 9 arch bridge and little Adam’s peak and a 15-20 minute walk down to main part of town"

"Excellent hotel in the mountains with a wonderful view from the balcony. The room itself is very spacious and well-equipped. The fridge offers free drinks and beer. The breakfast was quite good. The staff met us with a tuk-tuk even though we arrived late and in the rain, as a car couldn't get through. The service was fantastic."

"We had a wonderful stay at Greenland Villa. It is perfectly located right next to the Kithal Ella train station, from which you can directly board the famous train that goes through the nine arch bridge. The property was beautiful, very well equipped with everything we needed including a great kitchen. It was clean, well ventilated, and more importantly it felt like home. The owner took time to decorate it with great taste. On top of that he was such a humble and polite person.Upon arrival he gave us a ride to get our groceries; another day he brought us his homegrown vegetables, which was such a nice gesture. Having said that, there were a couple of issues that needed to be addressed. The WiFi connection was not great, probably because of the location, but we struggled with it. And the breakfast was very carb-heavy, which may work for you but wasn't particularly to our liking. Nonetheless, We would book it again if I ever come back to Ella. We can only recommend Greenland villa highly."

"It's true that this guesthouse is a bit out of town (a small road). But what peace and quiet, and what authenticity! I really appreciated the warm welcome from this dedicated gentleman. And what a pleasure it was to wake up and discover this place nestled in the heart of the forest. My best breakfast of my entire stay in Sri Lanka, with a view of the mountains and lush vegetation. The room, with its original decor ;-) is very clean and offers all the essential amenities (great Wi-Fi, hairdryer, blankets—essential in this cool mountain spot...). But above all, it's authentic, and the gentleman is lovely and incredibly attentive. He truly deserves to work more. I will definitely return. It's a welcome change from hotels!"

"The place is very calm,however difficult to travel from the accomodation to town and other places. There is tuk tuk prepared by the host bit charges applied. If not prefer to pay extra for tuk tuk maybe find other option."

"The hotel is located on a hillside, offering stunning mountain views. The bathroom in the room was incredibly large. It was the only room in Sri Lanka that wasn't damp during my 20-plus days there. Air conditioning would have been perfect. It's over a 20-minute drive from Ella Town. Ella is mostly hilly, and the winding roads leading to the hotels and B&Bs make it a perfect place for those looking to escape the world for a few days. A special shout-out to the hotel's service team, a group of friendly, down-to-earth local guys. They genuinely want to treat everyone well. Thank you for the delicious breakfast."
