"The place is a long ride up the mountain on a narrow winding road… (and unfortunately the local PickMe App has no use in Ella!) The food service was good but a bit pricey for the area of Sri Lanka. The “Single Room“ was as rather small and had an all glass “front door” and there was no fan or air conditioning… so with the open ventilation ducts most conversations from anywhere in the building could be heard inside of the room… Overall it was pleasant but not as nice as I had imagined from the listing…"

"Stay away from this hotel! The hotel rooms isn’t what’s pictured on booking sites, the entrance is through a forest on a mountain and through other buildings. The walls is stained, door is leaking, and the room are nasty. The entrance pathway crumbled under me so a nail went through my foot and got several scratches. It is NOT a hotel, not even a bungalow. I would rather sleep with the homeless dogs than stay there one night. We checked out 30 minutes after we checked in. At least the manager was nice enough to give a full refund and drive us to another hotel."

"Dowa Elegance Resort in Ella is a mesmerizing place with breathtaking scenery and spacious, beautifully decorated cabana-style rooms featuring modern amenities. The private viewing decks offer a perfect spot to relax and enjoy nature. The staff are kind and helpful, enhancing the overall experience. However, improvements to the menu are needed to offer a wider variety of food options. Additionally, more organized and professional management would elevate the resort's potential to be one of the best in Ella. Limited parking is available, so plan ahead. Despite this, it's a great destination for a peaceful retreat."

"Service was top notch but it’s located on a hill. Even though the entrance to the hotel is on the main Ella street, it takes a lot of effort to walk up the steep slopes up to the hotel. The decoration is also very dated. Views are great but it’s just a very old hotel that I don’t feel comfortable in"

"A wonderful hostess with a sweet daughter. Met, brought a kettle, blankets and mosquito spray. Ordered a tuk-tuk to the city and told about the sights. In the morning she laid a delicious Sri Lankan breakfast, baked a flatbread, made coffee. The hotel itself is in the mountains with a beautiful view, you will enjoy staying in the jungle and its inhabitants. The feeling that you live in a wooden hut that we built in childhood, I really liked it. The place is located 10 minutes walk from the city, away from the hustle and bustle where you can relax."

"We stayed at a wonderful hotel nestled among the trees, right in the heart of nature in Ella. 🌿 The hotel's location is truly unique; being within walking distance of the famous Nine Arch Bridge was a huge plus. Waking up to the sound of birds in the morning and taking a short walk to the bridge was incredibly enjoyable. The rooms were clean, spacious, and had a natural, integrated feel. The staff were extremely attentive and friendly, making us feel right at home. And the view… it's hard to describe, you see every shade of green. I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking to be one with nature, find peace, and be close to one of Ella's most beautiful spots. 🌄"
